Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung (FES) Bangladesh is recruiting a Communications and Project Officer for its Bangladesh office. FES is looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated communication expert to foster a steady flow of communication and to support the Programme Advisor and the team of FES Bangladesh office.
The selected applicant will manage both our internal and external communication and will support FES Bangladesh with her/his expertise of strategic communication for development agencies and INGOs/ NGOs. He/she should be excited about developing and implementing plans to engage target audiences and spread the message about the work of FES in Bangladesh. The applicant will also support the Resident Representative in his/her communications and works. The ability to communicate effectively in English and Bangla (orally and written) is a must.
Responsibilities:
Develop, support and promote communication goals with the FES Bangladesh team;
Take care of day-to-day event communication and our social media presence
Maintain and update the website (another service provider takes care of the web site infrastructure)
Assist to draft and create content of the FES’ website
Assure that FES Bangladesh communication conforms to the corporate design
Maintain liaison with the FES regional communication officer, act on updates, and execute regional and international level communication works
Identify target audiences and create strategies to effectively reach and engage them
Manage and edit social media in close cooperation with the team and under the supervision of the Resident Representative
Develop and disseminate public relations materials that increase FES’s visibility;
Prepare and organize events from a communication perspective together with Programme Advisors and FES team members
Maintain and build media relations
Support the Programme Team in project related activities and Finance & Admin Team from a communication perspective when needed;
Handle design, layout and printing services and contracts, in line with FES financial guidelines
Organize, document and arrange books and other materials in the FES Library
Work closely with the FES Resident Representative and team to develop and strengthen internal communication tools;
Support the FES Resident Representative in reviewing texts and creating content related material.
