Job Purpose of Medical Assistant:

The Medical Assistant - NCD Program will support the clinical team in the Rohingya camp by offering essential clinical care and assisting healthcare professionals in quality, patient-centered services for individuals with non-communicable diseases in Project for promotion of primary and secondary prevention of non-communicable diseases and strengthening its follow-up system in Forcibility Displaced Myanmar Nationals in Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh. The role ensures smooth patient flow, proper chronic disease monitoring, accurate documentation, and effective coordination of NCD outpatient care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Closely work with the Screener to conduct patient assessments and NCD screenings (e.g. blood pressure, blood glucose, BMI).

• Assist in clinical procedures, provide basic care, and administer prescribed medications.

• Ensure smooth patient flow and support doctors during consultations and emergencies.

• Maintain accurate patient records and enter data into health information systems.

• Uphold infection prevention and control (IPC) standards and keep the clinic clean and organized.

• Educate patients and caregivers on chronic disease management and healthy lifestyles.

• Coordinate with clinical teams and referral centers to ensure continuity of care.

• Perform other relevant duties as assigned and support emergency response efforts as needed.

• Coordinate with the health education team to deliver targeted health education sessions on NCD prevention, treatment adherence, and healthy lifestyle practices.

• Provide household-level follow-up for NCD patients with disabilities, ensuring continuity of care, treatment compliance, and timely referral to health facilities when required

Quality, Ethics, and Compliance

• Maintain patient confidentiality and follow organizational Code of Conduct, PSEA, and workplace safety policies.

• Participate in regular team meetings for information sharing, coordination, and service improvement.

• Attend trainings, capacity-building activities, and organizational programs as assigned.

• Perform any other duties assigned by the authority relevant to Health Post operations.
