Responsibilities & Context:

Ventura Leatherware Mfy (BD) Ltd located in Uttara EPZ in Nilphamari, a 100% export-oriented enterprise, is offering job opportunities for deserving candidates for the position of Sr. Officer/ Asst. Manager - Procurement/ Merchandising in its Dhaka Liaison Office at Uttara.

Strategic Sourcing and Supplier Management

  • Identify and Evaluate Suppliers: Research potential suppliers, evaluate their offerings, and select the best options based on quality, cost, reliability, and service.

  • Negotiate Contracts: Conduct negotiations to secure favorable terms and conditions, ensuring cost-effectiveness and quality.

  • Build and Maintain Relationships: Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure a reliable supply chain and manage any issues that arise.

Purchasing and Ordering

  • Create Purchase Orders: Generate and process purchase orders based on organizational needs and budget constraints.

  • Monitor Order Status: Track the status of orders, ensuring timely delivery and addressing any delays or issues.

  • Manage Inventory Levels: Ensure optimal inventory levels are maintained to meet operational requirements without overstocking.

Cost Management and Budgeting

  • Control Costs: Identify opportunities for cost savings through strategic sourcing, volume purchasing, and supplier negotiations.

  • Budgeting: Develop and manage the procurement budget, ensuring expenditures align with financial goals and constraints.

  • Analyze Spending: Monitor and analyze spending patterns to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.

Compliance and Risk Management

  • Ensure Compliance: Ensure procurement activities comply with relevant laws, regulations, and organizational policies.

  • Mitigate Risks: Identify and mitigate risks associated with procurement, such as supply chain disruptions, financial instability of suppliers, or geopolitical issues.

  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of procurement activities and provide reports to management as needed.

Process Improvement and Innovation

  • Improve Processes: Continuously assess and improve procurement processes to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance service levels.

  • Implement Technology: Leverage technology and procurement software to streamline operations and improve data management.

  • Sustainability Initiatives: Implement and support sustainability initiatives in procurement to promote environmentally responsible practices.

Team Management and Development

  • Lead and Mentor: Lead and develop a team of procurement professionals, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.

  • Collaborate with Departments: Work closely with other departments (e.g., finance, operations, logistics) to align procurement strategies with organizational goals.

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with internal stakeholders to understand their needs and ensure procurement activities support overall business objectives.

Strategic Planning

  • Develop Procurement Strategies: Create and implement procurement strategies that align with the organization`s overall business strategy.

  • Market Analysis: Conduct market research and analysis to stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and competitive landscape.

  • Long-term Planning: Develop long-term plans for procurement to support the organization’s growth and sustainability objectives.
