Experience:
Bachelor’s in Textile Engineering / Apparel Merchandising / Fashion Design
Additional certification in merchandising or supply chain is a plus.
The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): Garments, Reputed Foreign Buying House, Liaison Office, Retail Office.
Minimum 5–12 years practical experience in Apparel Merchandising, including at least 2–3 years in product development & team leader role.
Strong Experience Woven, Knit, Tailoring / Formal product & Sweater
Strong buyer communication skills, pricing knowledge, fabric/yarn/trims sourcing expertise.
Must be able to independently handle European & US buyers in premium brand I.E s.Oliver, Inditex, Gap, Cecil, Mango, Chanel, Ralph Lauren, Old Navy, Wrangler etc
Excellent command over English (written & spoken), email etiquette, and computer literacy (Excel, ERP/QuickBooks knowledge preferred).
Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple orders simultaneously.
Strong leadership, negotiation, analytical, and decision-making skills.
The Senior Merchandiser holds the accountability for managing the customer accounts from product development and sampling stage till shipment and payment realization, ensuring seamless execution of daily tasks and timely delivery in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
Understand ethical behavior and business practices and ensure own behavior and the behavior of others is consistent with these standards and aligns with the values of the organization
Order Management & Execution
Manage complete order lifecycle from development to shipment across knits, woven, Tailoring/formal and sweater (both tops and bottoms).
Prepare and monitor Time & Action (T&A) calendar in coordination with management and buyer.
Ensure timely sample development, approval, and bulk production in line with buyer’s timeline.
Set effective production plans in collaboration with factories to meet delivery deadlines.
Monitor daily production, coordinate with QA/QC for smooth inspections and timely shipment.
Ensure all materials (fabrics & accessories from Nominated & non-nominated sources) are in-house on time with the correct lead times.
Supplier & Buyer Management
Maintain effective communication and relationship with buyers and suppliers.
Participate in buying meetings, support price negotiation, capacity planning, FCR discussions, etc.
Support buying support teams with strategic supplier sourcing and platform-based supplier development.
Track supplier performance, manage capacity planning, and recommend shifts as needed.
Production Process Optimization:
Analyze and improve sewing, cutting, and finishing processes to enhance productivity with production units
Develop and implement organized work flow to set standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Identify bottlenecks and recommend solutions to streamline workflow.
Efficiency Monitoring:
Track line efficiency and individual operator performance.
Implement performance improvement plans and training programs.
Use KPIs to evaluate and report on production effectiveness.
