Cassiopea Sweaters Ltd (CSL) is a 100% export-oriented knitwear manufacturing facility. Established in 2019, CSL specializes in premium and fashion knitwear across multiple gauges (3GG, 5GG, 7GG, 10GG, 12GG, 14GG).
The Senior Merchandiser will play a critical role in managing buyer communication, coordinating production teams, and ensuring timely delivery of high-quality knitwear products.
1. Buyer Communication & Account Management
Act as the primary contact for assigned buyers, ensuring clear and timely communication on orders, developments, and approvals.
Manage all aspects of product lifecycle — from sampling to shipment.
Follow up on buyer tech packs, BOMs, comments, approvals, and shipment schedules.
Handle price negotiations, costing sheets, and order confirmations in coordination with management.
2. Product Development & Sampling
Coordinate with design and sampling teams to develop new styles as per buyer requirements.
Ensure timely submission of development samples, fit samples, and PP samples.
Work closely with yarn sourcing and accessories teams to meet technical and aesthetic expectations.
3. Production Coordination
Follow up with planning, knitting, linking, washing, finishing, and packing teams to ensure production aligns with buyer timelines.
Maintain WIP reports and identify potential bottlenecks early.
Collaborate with QA and technical teams to meet buyers’ quality standards.
4. Costing, Planning & Order Execution
Prepare detailed cost breakdowns considering yarn, trims, labor, and overheads.
Liaise with commercial and finance teams for LC / document flow, ensuring smooth order processing.
Track shipment schedules and monitor critical path to ensure on-time delivery.
5. Compliance & Documentation
Ensure all processes meet buyers’ compliance and sustainability requirements (OEKO-TEX, SEDEX, RSC, etc.).
Maintain proper documentation for audits and buyer reporting.
6. Teamwork & Leadership
Mentor and guide junior merchandisers / assistants to build departmental efficiency.
Support management in strategic planning, new buyer development, and market research.
Bachelor’s degree in Textile Engineering, Fashion Merchandising, or Business Administration.
Minimum 7+ years of experience in a sweater or knitwear factory (preferably handling UK/EU buyers).
Strong understanding of yarns, gauges, knit structures, and garment manufacturing processes.
Excellent communication skills in English — both written and verbal.
Proficient in Excel, ERP/MIS reporting, and critical path management.
Capable of handling multiple accounts independently with attention to detail and accountability.
