Job Context:
The Quality Incharge – Garments Accessories is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining quality control systems to ensure all garment accessories (zippers, buttons, labels, elastics, trims, packaging, etc.) meet buyer specifications, regulatory standards, and internal quality benchmarks. The role ensures defect prevention, process control, supplier quality compliance, and continuous improvement across production and supply chain.
Key Responsibilities
1. Quality System Management
Develop and implement Quality Management Systems (QMS).
Establish SOPs, inspection standards, and quality manuals.
Ensure compliance with ISO, AQL, and buyer requirements.
Lead internal and external quality audits.
2. Incoming & In-Process Quality Control
Oversee inspection of raw materials and accessories.
Approve first article samples and pre-production samples.
Monitor in-line production quality checks.
Ensure adherence to AQL standards during final inspection.
3. Supplier Quality Management
Evaluate and approve accessory suppliers.
Conduct supplier audits and performance reviews.
Work with vendors on corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
Monitor supplier quality KPIs and compliance.
4. Testing & Compliance
Ensure physical and chemical testing (colorfastness, nickel release, tensile strength, etc.).
Coordinate with third-party labs for compliance testing.
Ensure products meet buyer and international regulations (REACH, CPSIA, etc.).
5. Team Leadership
Lead and train QC inspectors and quality staff.
Set performance goals for the quality team.
Conduct regular training on quality standards and inspection techniques.
6. Problem Solving & Continuous Improvement
Analyze defect data and root causes.
Implement corrective and preventive actions.
Reduce rejection rates and improve production efficiency.
Lead quality improvement projects (Six Sigma / Lean initiatives).
7. Documentation & Reporting
Maintain inspection reports, audit reports, and test records.
Present quality performance reports to management.
Track KPIs such as defect rate, customer complaints, rework percentage.
