Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and technically strong personnel , Head of Sample & CAD Department to lead our pre-production development function in a 100% knit composite environment. The role is responsible for transforming buyer designs into production-ready patterns and high-quality samples while optimizing CAD operations for accuracy, efficiency, and minimum fabric wastage.

Key Responsibilities

1. CAD & Pattern Management

• Oversee development of accurate and production-friendly patterns for knit products (T-shirts, polo shirts, fleece, etc.)

• Ensure correct grading based on buyer spec sheets and technical packages.

• Achieve and maintain marker efficiency of 90%+ through advanced marker planning and fabric utilization techniques.

• Monitor cuttable width, shrinkage allowance, and wastage control.

• Ensure CAD hardware and software are updated and functioning optimally.

• Maintain pattern library and version control for all approved styles.

2. Sample Development & Technical Control

• Lead timely execution of all development stages: Proto, Fit, Size Set, Pre-Production Sample (PPS), and Gold Seal as per buyer T&A calendar.

• Conduct technical analysis of buyer comments and ensure corrective implementation in patterns and samples.

• Arrange and lead fit sessions; provide technical solutions related to garment construction, measurement, and fitting issues.

• Ensure all samples comply with buyer quality standards, workmanship requirements, and technical specifications.

• Closely monitor sample rejection causes and implement preventive action.

3. Operational Management & Coordination

• Coordinate closely with Merchandising, Knitting, Dyeing, Finishing, and Production teams for smooth style handover.

• Provide accurate fabric consumption and wastage analysis for costing and booking purposes.

• Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments for new developments before bulk confirmation.

• Support production team during pilot run and initial bulk stages to ensure pattern accuracy and consistency.

4. Leadership & Performance Management

• Lead, supervise, and mentor pattern masters, sample operators, and CAD technicians.

• Establish and monitor KPIs such as:

• On-time sample submission rate

• Sample approval success rate

• Pattern accuracy and revision frequency

• Marker efficiency percentage

• Develop departmental SOPs and continuous improvement initiatives.
