Job Context:
∎ JOB PURPOSE: The Research Analyst takes an important role in research and evidence team to assist the team in assessing research needs of ASC and preparing and executing research plans. S/he assists in conducting research, from preparing research design to drafting report. S/he also assists in carrying out the responsibilities to translate the research findings into different knowledge products and disseminate them with different stakeholders and knowledge seekers and most importantly the target audience of ASC.
∎ SAFEGUARDING RESPONSIBILITIES
∎ Ensure the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation to achieve the programme`s goals on safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
∎ Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action
∎ Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, encourage others to do so.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Assist in assessing research needs and preparing yearly operation plan for conducting research/studies for Advocacy for Social Change (ASC)
∎ Assist in preparing appropriate design of every research with the guidance from the team lead
∎ Prepare data collection plan and ensure quality in data collection process with the guidance from team lead
∎ Analyse field data using appropriate software and draft research report with the guidance from team lead
∎ Assist in preparing PowerPoint slides for making public presentation for sharing research findings by the senior members of the team
∎ Prepare appropriate knowledge products such as policy brief, infographics, summary, OPED, journal article etc. by using the research findings with the guidance from team lead
∎ Provide assistance to the policy and advocacy team and other BRAC programmes based on the research findings
∎ Represent ASC in external forums especially the knowledge events and present ASC research findings, if assigned by the senior members of the team
∎ Assist in preparing quality research proposals for external resource mobilisation
∎ Assist in studying and analysing national policy environment and situation to provide necessary and useful information to the Programme Head and Team Leads to take timely initiative for research to influence specific policies
∎ Provide any other support to senior management if needed and other units of ASC

Additional Requirements:
∎ Good skills and experience in all aspects of research cycle management - design, implementation, monitoring data quality and report writing
∎ Excellent training, facilitation and capacity building skills
∎ Proven communication and presentation experience
∎ An excellent team player with good skills in team work and consultative approach to decision making
∎ Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, including a good track record of report writing
∎ Commitment to the values, mission and policies of BRAC
∎ Minimum 3 years work experience in similar role in the development sector or research firms
