Educational Requirements:
∎ Bachelor in Engineering (BEngg)
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Oversee all of UDP’s activities of ‘Increasing Water Security and Resilience of Low-income Climate Affected Communities in Satkhira Municipality’ project
∎ Ensure all programmatic targets i.e.; community mobilization, CAP preparation and implementation, community and participant selection, liaison with DPHE, selection of project location for establishing climate adaptive water infrastructure, formation and capacity development of water management committee, advocacy and knowledge management, research according to annual plan maintaining high quality of results
∎ Ensure linkage for key stakeholders i.e. government, civil society organizations, donors, media, other BRAC programmes etc.
∎ Development of Detail Implementation Plan (DIP), log-frame and production of different Information, review national and international best practices, innovations and successful interventions in areas relevant to the project
∎ Prepare development plan for all supervisee staff and take initiative for their capacity development on regular basis.
∎ Manage field operations budget ensuring all expenditures are done according to approved budget and take appropriate measures if non-budgeted expenditures are required at field level
∎ Guide and mentor supervisee staff, identify staff capacity building needs and take initiatives for their capacity development, ensure sound people management practices across field operations of all UDP components/projects
∎ Ensure team members’ safety from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment, and exploitation to achieve the programme’s safeguarding implementation goals. Act as a key source of support, guidance, and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
∎ Practice, promote, and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
∎ Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, encourage others to do so.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at least 25 years
∎ Knowledge on Urban Water Security, Urban Poverty, Urban Development, Market linkage
∎ Ability to think strategically and rapidly analyze, interpret and integrate data information from varied sources into clear conclusions and recommendations
∎ Ability to produce quality work with a high degree of accuracy, good problem-solving skills, organizational capabilities and attention to detail, a high degree of initiative, and ability to work independently
∎ Ability to work under tight time constraints, multitask with ease, and adjust plans in the face of changing priorities
∎ Competencies:
∎ Ability to use strong interpersonal and teamwork skills to cultivate effective, productive client relationships and partnerships and generate excitement around data
∎ Proven experience in managing and growing a team
∎ Strong writing and presentation skills
∎ Ability to write quality reports in English
