1. Production Planning & Control

• Plan daily, weekly, and monthly production targets

• Ensure optimal utilisation of manpower, machines, mods, and kilns

• Coordinate with supply chain for raw materials (clay, feldspar, glaze, etc.)

2. Process Management

• Oversee all stages:

  • Body preparation (slip making)

  • Casting (pressure casting / slip casting)

  • Drying

  • Glazing

  • Firing (kiln operation)

• Ensure correct process parameters (temperature, humidity, cycle time)

3. Resource Optimisation

• Reduce cycle time and increase productivity

• Minimise waste (green rejection, glaze defects, firing loss)

• Improve mold life and kiln efficiency

4. Equipment & Maintenance Coordination

• Work with maintenance team for preventive maintenance

• Ensure minimal downtime of kilns, casting machines, dryers

5. Workforce Management

• Supervise production staff and shift supervisors

• Train operators on SOPs and safety

• Ensure proper shift planning and discipline

1. Quality Control System Implementation

• Establish and maintain QA/QC procedures

• Ensure compliance with standards (e.g., ISO, internal specs)

2. Incoming Material Inspection

• Verify quality of raw materials:

  • Clay composition

  • Chemicals and glaze materials

3. In-Process Quality Control

• Monitor:

  • Casting thickness and uniformity

  • Drying cracks

  • Glazing consistency

  • Kiln temperature curves

4. Final Product Inspection

• Check finished goods for:

  • Cracks, pinholes, war page

  • Color consistency

  • Dimensional accuracy

  • Water absorption and strength

5. Defect Analysis & Reduction

• Analyse rejection causes:

  • Black spots, glaze crawling, deformation

• Implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
