∎ Expertise in pattern-making: Includes CAD & 3D tools and techniques. Proficiency in tools like Adobe Illustrator & PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) systems.

∎ Strong organizational skills.
∎ Understanding of sustainability practices in fashion (a plus).
∎ Strong knowledge of fabrics, garment construction, and manufacturing processes.
∎ 10+ years of experience in product development, textiles, or apparel of which at least 5 years as a manager.
Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Drive the technical product development from A to Z (from receiving the brief till bulk production) for new products within the given target price.
∎ Ensure execution of TCG fit strategy & fit consistency throughout all products.
∎ Create and maintain all technical specifications.
∎ Implement the right procedures, practices, tools & reporting to support and improve the overall product development process.
∎ Collaborate with all relevant departments (product management, sourcing, quality & sustainability) to achieve company goals.
∎ Partner with all suppliers, nominated by sourcing, to execute the product development as per plan & requirements.
∎ Create development specifications (sketch, measurements, patterns, grading & BOM)
∎ Calculate fabric / trim consumptions.
∎ Ensure that the brands DNA & quality are maintained throughout the overall process.
∎ Make a development calendar with precise time-lines & responsibilities to meet company’s deadlines.
∎ Liaise with sourcing department on all possible options for fabric and trims to match the brief.
∎ Work with suppliers selected by sourcing, to develop fabric/trims if needed.
∎ Select from TCG fabric/trim database if required.
∎ Collaborate with product & quality (according to TCG colour standards) to develop the colour collection after fabric selection.
∎ Colour approval from lab-dip to mini-bulk/bulk.
∎ Brief the selected supplier with the proper technical specifications including fabric & trims.
∎ Together with sourcing brief the suppliers on the target FOB.
∎ Oversee the development of prototypes, samples, and mock-ups to test designs and fit.
∎ Provide feedback to ensure products meet all TCG standards (quality, functional, & sustainability)
∎ All physical samples to be screened before sending to HQ
∎ Prepare and review final tech packs, BOMs (bills of materials), and production guidelines.
∎ Ensure consistency in sizing/grading, fit, and construction methods.
∎ Maintain the excel database with new styles, fabric, trims, & colour and update it when necessary.
∎ Together with quality and sustainability, ensure that all products meet regulatory, environmental, and safety standards.
∎ Manage timelines, troubleshoot production challenges, and maintain quality control during manufacturing.
∎ Act as the link between product management, sourcing, sustainability,& quality, teams to achieve objectives.
∎ Regular updates on product development progress to all relevant departments in due time.
∎ Train and bring Dhaka Liaison Office (DLO) product development team to the next level.
∎ Support Country Manager to evaluate current talent and to improve processes within product development.
∎ Advice Quality Manager on potential improvements.
∎ Foster a collaborative and efficient team environment.
∎ Product Development Manager at The Cotton Group (TCG) will play a crucial role in executing the whole product development process from A-Z. After receiving the brief she/he will have the responsibility to translate this brief into a technical specification (Sketch, measurements, grading, patterns, BOM, etc.) that will allow suppliers to produce samples accordingly. This means to develop the right style with the right fit in the right fabric at the targeted price with correct quality and in line with the TCG sustainability requirements.
