Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Experience: Minimum 3 -4 of experience in product development along with merchandising preferably within a buying house or retail environment, with a strong focus on merchandising.
∎ Technical Skills: Proficiency in design software (Adobe Creative Suite, CAD, etc.) and a solid understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and production techniques.
∎ Analytical Mindset: Strong analytical skills to interpret market data and translate insights into effective design and merchandising strategies.
∎ Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
∎ Passion for Design: A genuine enthusiasm for fashion and product innovation, with a keen awareness of current and emerging trends.
∎ Cross-Functional Collaboration: Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with merchandising, marketing, and production teams, ensuring cohesive product development.
∎ Technical Design Proficiency: Knowledge of garment construction, and technical specifications to create products that meet quality standards.
∎ Creative Conceptualization: Skill in developing innovative design concepts that not only appeal aesthetically but also fulfill merchandising objectives.
∎ Visual Merchandising Expertise: Proficiency in creating visually appealing displays and presentations that effectively showcase products and enhance brand image.
∎ Fabric and Material Knowledge: Understanding of various textiles, their properties, and how they impact design and merchandising strategies.
∎ Attention to Detail: Meticulous focus on product quality, design specifications, and consistency with brand standards throughout the development process.
