Job Context

Confidence Batteries Ltd. is looking for a proactive and strategic Procurement Manager to lead and manage the company’s procurement function across both local and international sourcing.

The role is responsible for ensuring uninterrupted material availability for production while optimizing cost, supplier reliability, and inventory levels. The selected candidate will develop forward-looking procurement plans based on sales forecasts, production requirements, and inventory targets, ensuring procurement operations remain efficient and proactive.

Key Responsibilities

Procurement Planning

• Develop structured procurement plans based on production requirements and sales forecasts

• Ensure uninterrupted supply of materials for factory operations

• Align procurement activities with production schedules

Vendor Development & Supplier Management

• Identify, evaluate, and onboard reliable suppliers

• Maintain strong supplier relationships and monitor supplier performance

• Ensure competitive pricing and supply continuity

Cost Management & Negotiation

• Negotiate favorable pricing and commercial terms with vendors

• Monitor raw material price trends and benchmark supplier pricing

• Identify opportunities for procurement cost optimization

Delivery & Supply Monitoring

• Develop and manage weekly and monthly delivery schedules

• Track supplier commitments and resolve delays proactively

• Ensure materials are delivered according to factory production plans

Inventory Management

• Work closely with Stores to maintain optimal inventory levels

• Prevent stock-outs and excess inventory

• Maintain safety stock levels for critical materials

Foreign Procurement & Import Management

• Manage international procurement activities

• Coordinate import planning, shipment tracking, and documentation

• Liaise with clearing agents and coordinate with Finance on LC and TT payments

Procurement Process Development

• Implement procurement planning tools and dashboards

• Develop vendor evaluation systems and procurement trackers

• Strengthen procurement processes for efficiency and transparency

Team Leadership

• Lead and develop the procurement team

• Assign responsibilities and monitor procurement execution

• Build a culture of accountability and operational excellence
