An Assistant Manager (Printing Planner) typically sits between production and supply chain—making sure printing jobs are planned, scheduled, and delivered efficiently.
You’d be responsible for turning incoming print orders into actionable production plans. That means reviewing job specifications (quantity, materials, deadlines), prioritizing work, and creating daily or weekly production schedules. A big part of the job is making sure machines, manpower, and materials are aligned so nothing bottleneck
Once jobs are running, you track progress against the plan. If delays or issues happen (machine breakdowns, errors, urgent orders), you adjust schedules and reallocate resources to keep production on track.
You help minimize waste (paper, ink, time) by optimizing layouts, batching similar jobs, and improving workflow efficiency. Reducing downtime is a key performance factor.
Maintaining records of jobs, production timelines, delays, and output levels is part of the role. You may generate reports for management on productivity, costs, and performance metrics.
As an assistant manager, you often supervise operators or coordinators—assigning tasks, guiding workflow, and sometimes handling basic HR-related duties like shift planning.
