Job Context
The Manager – Supply Chain (Local & International Procurement) will be responsible for planning, sourcing, and managing local and international procurement activities to ensure the timely and cost-effective supply of raw materials, chemicals, yarn, accessories, machinery, spare parts, and MRO items for garments and textile operations. The role will ensure procurement efficiency, supplier performance, inventory optimization, and compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
Job Responsibilities
Develop and implement supply chain and procurement strategies aligned with organizational objectives.
Manage local and international procurement of yarn, chemicals, dyes, garments & textile accessories, engineering items, machinery, machinery spare parts, MRO materials, packaging materials, stationery, and general store items.
Ensure compliance with procurement policies, SOPs, and internal control procedures.
Prepare procurement documents, comparative statements (CS), purchase orders (PO), note sheets, ERP transactions, and approval documentation.
Source, evaluate, and negotiate with local and international suppliers to achieve the best quality, cost, and delivery terms.
Coordinate import procurement, L/C documentation, customs clearance, and commercial activities with banks, C&F agents, and freight forwarders.
Monitor procurement, inventory, logistics, and material availability to ensure uninterrupted production.
Maintain supplier databases, conduct supplier performance evaluations, and build long-term strategic partnerships.
Analyze procurement costs and implement cost-saving initiatives while maintaining quality standards.
Prepare procurement, inventory, and supply chain KPI reports for management.
Lead and develop the Supply Chain team to achieve departmental objectives.
Ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
Perform any other duties assigned by Management.
Experience: 5–8 years of relevant experience in Supply Chain Management, with hands-on experience in local & international procurement within the Garments & Textile industry.
Education
MBA/BBA in Supply Chain Management, Management, Marketing, International Business, or a related discipline from a reputed university.
B.Sc. in Engineering (Mechanical, IPE, Textile, or Electrical) with relevant experience may also apply.
PGD in Supply Chain Management/CIPS certification will be an added advantage.
