• Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Textile Engineering, Chemical Technical/Engineering

Strong knowledge of wet processing/textile chemistry will be preferred.

Professional Supply Chain/Procurement training will be an advantage.

Strong hands-on experience in textile dyes & chemicals SCM, sourcing and procurement.

Practical knowledge of Yarn Dyeing, Dyeing, Printing and Finishing processes.

Strong knowledge of dyes, chemicals, auxiliaries and textile wet-processing requirements.

Experience in both local and international sourcing of dyes and chemicals.

Strong supplier development, manufacturer identification and commercial negotiation skills.

Ability to perform material planning, demand forecasting, inventory planning and supply assurance.

Good understanding of safety stock, reorder point, lead time and days of coverage.

Knowledge of ZDHC, MRSL, RSL and buyer-specific chemical compliance requirements.

Experience in price benchmarking, landed-cost analysis and procurement cost optimization.

Strong analytical, Excel, ERP and reporting skills.

Ability to proactively identify material shortages and take timely corrective actions to ensure uninterrupted production.

Strong communication, coordination and negotiation skills.

• Prepare forward requirements and demand forecasts for dyes, chemicals and auxiliaries based on production plans, confirmed orders, recipes, consumption and inventory.

• Maintain rolling material requirement plans covering current stock, reserved stock, open PO, in-transit quantity, safety stock, reorder point and supplier lead time.

• Coordinate with PPC, Yarn Dyeing, Dyeing, Printing, Finishing, Laboratory, Store, Quality and Commercial/Import teams.

• Identify potential material shortages proactively and ensure timely procurement before production requirements become critical.

• Monitor critical materials through daily/weekly risk reports and maintain appropriate recovery actions.

• Develop procurement plans based on supplier production lead time, shipment, import clearance and factory delivery timelines.

• Establish and monitor minimum stock, maximum stock, safety stock and reorder levels.

• Handle sourcing and procurement of reactive dyes, pigments, pretreatment chemicals, dyeing auxiliaries, printing chemicals, finishing chemicals, enzymes, softeners, acids, alkalis, salts and other textile chemicals.

• Develop and manage local and international suppliers, manufacturers, distributors and alternative sources.

• Identify direct manufacturer sourcing opportunities for high-value and high-consumption materials.

• Maintain primary, alternative and backup suppliers for critical materials where practical.

• Prepare RFQs and technical-commercial comparative statements.

• Negotiate price, MOQ, payment terms, credit period, lead time, freight, Incoterm, technical support and other commercial terms.

• Conduct purchase-price history, price benchmarking and cost analysis.

• Evaluate chemicals based on effective process cost, consumption, quality performance and process efficiency—not only purchase price per kg.

• Develop alternative chemicals through sampling, laboratory/production trials, technical evaluation, compliance verification and commercial assessment.

• Coordinate imported procurement from RFQ/PI/PO through shipment, documentation, customs clearance and factory delivery.

• Monitor EXW, FCA, FOB, CFR and CIF-based sourcing and landed-cost calculations.

• Ensure required SDS/MSDS, TDS, COA, manufacturer information, batch/lot information and chemical compliance documentation are available.

• Maintain working knowledge of ZDHC, MRSL, RSL and buyer-specific chemical requirements.

• Monitor incoming material quality, batch consistency and supplier performance.

• Manage supplier claims related to off-spec materials, quantity shortages, incorrect materials, damaged packaging, contamination, late delivery and documentation issues.

• Monitor inventory days, excess stock, slow-moving stock, non-moving stock, near-expiry and expired materials.

• Analyse standard/expected consumption versus actual consumption and investigate significant variances.

• Coordinate with suppliers for technical support, product trials, troubleshooting, process optimization and consumption reduction.

• Maintain procurement governance, transparency, confidentiality and ethical sourcing practices.

• Ensure accurate ERP/digital records for PR, RFQ, comparative statement, approval, PO, delivery, GRN, quality status, invoice and payment.

• Prepare SCM dashboards covering stock, requirements, PO status, in-transit materials, ETA, price variance, compliance and supply risks.

• Maintain focus on zero preventable production disruption caused by dyes and chemicals shortages attributable to SCM.
