Responsibilities & Context:

Job Context:

Lead and oversee the end-to-end procurement function, ensuring timely, cost-effective, and quality-compliant sourcing of yarn, dyes & chemicals, trims, accessories, packaging, machinery, and engineering spares. Drive strategic sourcing, supplier development, commercial negotiations, cost optimization, inventory efficiency, and supply continuity while ensuring procurement governance and alignment with business and production objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with business and production requirements.

  • Lead sourcing and purchasing of yarn, dyes & chemicals, trims, accessories, packaging materials, machinery/spares, and other production-related items.

  • Identify, evaluate, negotiate with, and develop reliable local and international suppliers.

  • Negotiate price, payment terms, lead time, MOQ, quality standards, and delivery schedules.

  • Monitor market trends, commodity prices, exchange rates, and supplier capacity to support effective purchasing decisions.

  • Ensure timely procurement based on production plans, sales forecasts, and material requirements.

  • Develop annual/monthly procurement plans and establish appropriate purchasing budgets.

  • Maintain and improve supplier performance through quality, cost, delivery, service, and compliance evaluation.

  • Lead supplier negotiations and cost-reduction initiatives without compromising product quality.

  • Coordinate with Finance and Commercial teams regarding LC, TT, payment terms, import documentation, and commercial requirements.

  • Monitor purchase orders from placement through delivery and resolve supply-related issues.

  • Maintain optimum inventory levels while minimizing excess, obsolete, and slow-moving stock.

  • Establish and maintain approved supplier lists and supplier evaluation systems.

  • Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, buyer requirements, ethical sourcing standards, and applicable laws.

  • Guide and develop the procurement team and establish clear KPIs for individual and departmental performance.

  • Prepare procurement reports covering spend analysis, savings, supplier performance, purchase status, inventory, and material availability.

  • Support management in strategic sourcing, make-or-buy decisions, localization, and overall supply-chain improvement.
