JOB CONTEXT

Silver Composite Textile Mills Ltd. (Unit-03) is a vertically integrated non-denim woven textile mill with approximately 3.2 million yards/month capacity, including yarn-dyed, solid-dyed, and rotary/digital printing capabilities. The GM will lead Marketing, Sales and Business Development to generate profitable international business, maximize capacity utilization, develop new buyers/markets, grow

Key Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end compliance for the facility: social, labor, EHS, fire/electrical/structural safety, environmental, chemical, and legal

• Act as primary buyer contact; manage Sedex/SMETA, Better Work Bangladesh, Nirapon, and RSC requirements and audits

• Lead RCA/CAPA for all findings; independently verify closure — not just accept department self-reports

• Prevent and escalate Zero-Tolerance/critical risks (child/forced labor, harassment, safety, wage violations, etc.)

• Oversee wage, attendance, and working-hour compliance verification

• Ensure environmental and ETP/wastewater compliance through practical technical review, not just paperwork

• Manage chemical compliance including SDS/MSDS, storage, ZDHC MRSL/RSL, and buyer chemical restrictions

• Maintain legal/license register, compliance risk register, and management dashboard/MIS

• Represent the factory in buyer visits, audits, and CAP/remediation discussions

• Build cross-department accountability (HR, Production, Engineering, ETP, Stores, Quality, etc.)

• Lead, train, and develop the Compliance/EHS team

Educational Requirements

Bachelor's/Master's in Textile Engineering, Environmental Science, Engineering, HR/Management, or related field

Relevant certifications in Compliance, Sustainability, EHS, or ISO are a plus

Experience Requirements

10–15 years in Compliance/Sustainability/EHS in export-oriented manufacturing; 3–5 years in a senior leadership role (AGM/Sr. Manager/Head of Compliance)

Hands-on textile manufacturing compliance experience is mandatory (garment-only compliance background not suitable)

Strong working knowledge of Sedex/SMETA, Better Work Bangladesh, Nirapon, RSC

Proven experience with social, environmental, chemical, and ETP/wastewater compliance

Direct experience facing international buyers, auditors, and managing CAPs/RCA to closure

Strong English communication and reporting skills; solid Excel/MIS capability
