Job Responsibilities:
∎ Responsible for planning and execution of the machine maintenance activities for the SBU
∎ Responsible for implementing machine setting, SMV improvement projects, cost reduction initiatives and conducting spot audits for achieving the functional objectives
∎ Responsible for functional MIS, reporting and compliance requirements, as per guidelines
∎ Supervise the team of maintenance staff and associates
∎ Set guidelines for preparation of preventive maintenance schedule for the Plants and Sample Room to ensure standardisation and optimum machine utlization
∎ Review and ensure completion of maintenance activities, including adherence to maintenance schedules / checklists , documentation requirements and on time release of machines for sample room requirements
∎ Review maintenance checklist periodically to analyse breakdowns / faults observed, recommend checks that can be built in the PM schedule accordingly
∎ Provide break-down services including trouble-shooting, repairs, servicing, replacements, etc. within target lead times
∎ Study and ensure availability of machines to meet the SBU requirements, through forecasting of machine requirements and ensuring machine availability through borrowing / renting, servicing, repairs, etc.
∎ Review and ensure updating and reconciliation of machine inventory in the system (for example, own, borrowed, rented) as per guidelines including payment of machine rentals to suppliers, as per agreed terms
∎ Ensure in-house availability of spare parts and consumables to meet the machine maintenance requirements, including adherence to SOPs for spares purchase, storage and inventory
∎ Coordinate with concerned teams to ensure completion of machine pre-setting, attachments and style change process for the SBU/ Sample Room requirements, within target lead times
∎ Recommend machine layouts / layout modifications by appropriate analysis (for example, sample production plan, style requirements, SMO Operational performance) to ensure optimum machine utilization and SMV savings
∎ Identify and implement projects for productivity improvement and cost reduction in machine maintenance function, with the guidance of the SBU Engineering Lead (for example, spares cost, consumables wastage, reconditioning of machines, group initiatives)
∎ Implement special functional projects in the SBU, as assigned (for example, Automation & Innovation)
∎ Ensure planning of maintenance spot audits (for example, plant visit schedules, processes for auditing) and execution of the audits in coordination with the concerned stake holders, including adherence to audit checklists, submission of audit findings to the Manager and follow up actions, as per guidelines
∎ Ensure preparation of machine maintenance MIS / reporting updates for the SBU, as per guidelines (for example, PM schedule adherence, down time, machine utilization, machine reconciliation, spares inventory, SMV reduction, cost reduction, skill matrix / training updates)
∎ Prepare and submit spot audit reports to the concerned stake holders (for example, SBU Engineering Head, SBU Operations Head), as per guidelines
∎ Participate in SBU functional reviews (for example, maintenance, production, IE), as per guidelines
∎ Coordinate with internal stake holders in the SBU / Plants / Group (for example, Plant Maintenance, IE, Production, Machine Management Centre) and external stake holders (for example, suppliers) for fulfilment of functional objectives
∎ Ensure adherence to documentation, compliance (for example, EHS, customer requirements) and system adherence (for example, 5S, TPM requirements) for all machine maintenance activities
∎ Plan and allocate work for the staff / associates, including on-the job training (for example, SOPs, safety, quality) for achievement of machine maintenance targets
∎ Ensure strict adherence to safety standards and protocols for all maintenance activities
∎ Motivate team members through effective deployment of functional motivational initiatives
∎ Maintain skill matrix of all team members, liaise with HR for training programs for skill development & new machine training, as required
∎ Counsel team members to resolve conflicts, grievances and disciplinary issues
