• To Develop, implement, and maintain quality control procedures (SOPs) specifically for the cutting section, ensuring they align with buyer requirements and company standards.
• Participate in Pre-Production Meetings (PPM) to understand the style's technical package, specifications, and critical quality points related to cutting (e.g., matching checks/stripes, shade segregation).
• To Supervise the inspection of incoming bulk fabric (often using the 4-Point System or similar) to ensure it meets the required quality, GSM (grams per square meter), Dia/Width, and shade standards before it is sent for cutting.
• Ensure proper fabric relaxation (if required) and shade segregation are carried out before spreading.
• Verify that the cutting marker (pattern layout) is correct, efficient (Marker Efficiency), and includes all necessary parts, correct sizes, and ratios as per the order.
• To Monitor and audit the actual cutting process to ensure all cut parts are accurate to the pattern templates and the cutting line is smooth (avoiding ragged cuts).
• To ensure all cut parts are correctly bundled, numbered, and tagged for size and sequential ply to maintain quality flow to the sewing lines.
• To lead, train, and manage the cutting QC/QA inspectors and personnel to ensure they are competent and following all standard procedures.
