• Education: B.Sc./M.Sc. in Food Technology, Food Engineering, Nutrition, or a related scientific field from a reputed institution.

• The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): Food (Packaged), Healthcare/Lifestyle product

• Experience: Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in food product development within an FMCG or nutrition-focused company. Experience working in a factory environment is a strong plus.

• Technical Knowledge:

• Strong foundation in food formulation, ingredients, Shelf Life stability study of food products and processing.

• Working knowledge of HACCP, GMP, and food safety audits.

• Skilled in MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word; experience with data tracking or formulation software is an advantage.

• Leadership & Soft Skills:

• Proactive, solutions-oriented, and committed to scientific integrity.

• Effective cross-functional communicator in both Bangla and English.

• Strong project management, time management, and collaboration skills.

• Curious, consumer-centric, and deeply mission-driven.

Position: Assistant Manager, R&D (Research & Development), Factory

Role Overview

We’re seeking an innovative and technically sound Assistant Manager – Research & Development to lead and manage product development initiatives that align with our mission and consumer expectations. This is a key mid-management role for someone passionate about science-based food innovation and committed to delivering excellence from concept to commercialization.

Key Responsibilities

Product Innovation & Development

• Lead new product development from ideation to market launch, ensuring alignment with nutrition, taste, and cost objectives.
• Conduct hands-on formulation, prototyping, sensory evaluation, and documentation.
• Ensure new product concepts are relevant to mothers and children, rooted in market research and customer needs.
• Process & Quality Integration
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams—Marketing, Production, QA, Regulatory—to ensure scalability and manufacturing feasibility of new products.
• Assist in drafting technical documents, SOPs, and product specs; support factory trials and scale-up.
• Technical Leadership
• Monitor food trends, ingredients, and technologies to fuel continuous innovation.
• Conduct shelf-life testing, stability trials, and cost-benefit analysis for new and existing products.
• Troubleshoot technical issues during product development or production runs with scientific rigor.
• Cost Management and Efficiency
• Identify opportunities for raw material substitution, yield improvement, and process optimization without compromising quality, safety, or nutrition.
• Work closely with Procurement and Production to optimize BOM (Bill of Materials) and reduce COGS.
• Perform cost comparison and sensitivity analysis for alternative ingredients, suppliers, and processes.
• Project & Team Management
• Manage multiple R&D projects with accountability for timelines, resources, and deliverables.
• Guide and coach junior R&D team members, instilling a culture of experimentation, learning, and ownership.
• Collaboration and Communication
• Working closely with other departments like marketing, QA, productions, operations, purchasing, and regulatory affairs.
• Facilitating communication and coordination between different teams for smooth product development and launch.
• Compliance & Documentation
• Support technology transfer from R&D to manufacturing, including SOPs, process parameters, and trial support.
• Ensure compliance with national and international food safety and labeling standards (BSTI, CODEX, HALAL).
• Maintain accurate records of formulations, development logs, and ingredient specs for traceability.
• Staying updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices.
• Support preparation of product specifications, nutritional information, labels, and technical documents for regulatory submission.
