∎ University Degree in Occupational Therapy , Physiotherapy, Human rights, sociology, disability studies, international development, humanitarian assistance or any other relevant area. Post-graduation is a plus.

Job Context:
∎ The Centre for Disability in Development (CDD) is a not for profit organization established in 1996 to develop a more inclusive society for persons with disabilities. CDD simultaneously builds technical capacities of the development stakeholders and the communities in how to be more inclusive whilst also enabling persons with a disability to participate in society by strengthening their leadership and providing them with essential rehabilitation and other supports.
∎ CDD is one of the most renowned organizations in the field of disability-inclusive development. CDD`s work in Bangladesh is supported by international and national donor agencies/development partners. CDD offers an inclusive, amicable, and respectable work environment.
∎ The Ramon Magsaysay Award (Asian version of the Noble prize) has been awarded to its Executive Director in 2010. In 2018, CDD was recognized by the Government of Bangladesh as one of the best organizations working on disability and development issues.
∎ Since November 2017, CDD in partnership with CBM is implementing humanitarian response for the Rohingyas in Ukhia, Cox`s Bazar. As per operational strategy January 1, 2021-Septmber 30, 2021 the current key activities of the response consist of (1) the provision of multidisciplinary rehabilitation services, (2) running of a Therapy Corner to provide rehabilitation and other related services for the Children with severe impairments, and (3) technical support to mainstream organizations, advocacy with sectors to include persons with disabilities in the humanitarian action

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Based on the Humanitarian Inclusion Standards for Older People and People with Disabilities and IASC guidelines in inclusion of persons with disabilities, work with 6 different mainstream organizations to incorporate disability inclusion into MEAL frameworks and develop implementation plan to meet indicators
∎ Provide on-site technical support and follow-up with CDD's HBR team to facilitate and improve the accessibility (home modification, support to receive the service, feedback and complain mechanism etc.) for the service users including older people and people with disabilities
∎ Maintain regular coordination with CDD teams to share information on challenges persons with disabilities are facing to access services, develop joint solutions and share information on referrals
∎ In collaboration with existing team, follow-up inclusive child friendly space is running in an effective manner and including making the service accessible and meaningful for children with and without disabilities.
∎ In collaboration with CDD's Inclusion Coordinator, organize meeting and follow-up implementation on the agreed developed action plan of 6 organization for disability mainstreaming
∎ Provide on-site technical support to humanitarian partners to improve inclusion of persons with disabilities in their projects.
∎ Design and support humanitarian partners in collecting disability disaggregated data using the Washington Group Short Set of Questions and conducting Capacity Gap Analysis, including focus group discussion inclusive of persons with disabilities
∎ In collaboration with CDD's Senior Training Officer and CBM's Humanitarian Disability Inclusion Advisor develop training packages on Inclusion of Persons with Disabilities in Humanitarian Action Work with WaSH, protection, DRR, Education partners
∎ Conduct accessibility audits
∎ Develop IEC material and case stories of good practice
∎ Support in identifying appropriate persons with disabilities among Rohingya population in order to support affected communities voices being included in the humanitarian assistance (through either opportunities during various studies carried out by UN agencies and other humanitarian INGO/NGOs or through attending cluster coordination meetings when possible)
∎ Link with any national, regional or local initiatives to support DPO leaders, when possible, to provide trainings to mainstream humanitarian organisations to include disability in their response strategies.
∎ Upon request of the CBM Humanitarian Disability Inclusion Advisor and CDD Inclusion Coordinator, participate in the Age and Disability Task Force (ADTF) and other sector coordination meetings to provide technical input on disability inclusion
∎ Liaise with health and rehab team to conduct survey, study and improve scope of inclusion in internal program.
∎ You will also perform additional work according to the projects need and as being assigned by the CDD authority.

∎ Willingness to learn and take on progressive portfolio of responsibilities
∎ Excellent oral and written English and Bangla and capacity to product learning documents and products
∎ Computer literacy (Microsoft Office, internet package)
∎ Experience in inclusion of at-risk groups ideally in humanitarian context- persons with disabilities, women, children, and older people
∎ Fluency in English and Bangla (speaking and written)
∎ Desirable:
∎ Experience in capacity building and delivering trainings, preferably in the field of age and /or disability
∎ Experience in humanitarian context/Cox's Bazar context and preferably in an advocacy and/or technical support position
∎ Knowledge / understanding of humanitarian architecture, disability inclusion standards and guidelines and Universal Design principles
∎ Chittagongian speaker
∎ Physical Requirements:
∎ Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
∎ Resonable accommodation will be ensured
∎ Periodic Field Visit in the Rohingya Camp .
∎ Need-based work during weekends, when essential.

Salary: Tk. 75000 - 80000 (Monthly)
