Experience:

• Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Chemical Technical/Engineering

• Minimum B. Tech in Chemical Engineering /BSc. in Chemistry from reputed university.
• Certificate course in Industrial Safety or advance diploma in Industrial Safety.

• At least 15 years
• The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): Pharmaceutical/Medicine Companies

• Deep understanding of Safety Management Systems related to API industries.
• Strong knowledge in Risk Assessment of Facility, Equipment and Process HAZOP studies.
• Excellent leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams toward achieving common safety goals.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact confidently with internal and external stakeholders.
• Strong safety knowledge of API & Intermediate manufacturing processes, solvent recovery, material storage & handling.
• Coordination with Production, Quality Assurance, Quality Control, Warehouse, Engineering, R&D and HR & Admin to ensure proper safety in the Plant.

Required Experience

• Minimum 15 years of experience in big API (multi-purpose) facilities.
• Proven experience in EHS roles within the API Industry, with strong experience in a leadership position.
• Proven track record in successfully managing safety audits both local & international customers.

Job Nature

Contractual (initially for two years, which can be extended based on both parties mutual understanding).

Job Location

API Industrial Park, Gajaria, Munshiganj, Bangladesh. 45 Kms south of Dhaka.

Job Summary

Overall responsibilities for all activities of EHS.

Reports to: Director, API Unit.

Core Responsibilities

• Carry out statutory compliances relating to various Acts & Rules safety provisions.
• Where no statutory provision is available, find out necessary safety rules from literature, technology & experience and try to implement.
• Perform Risk Assessment of Facility, Equipment and Process HAZOP studies.
• Assist & advise concerned person in analyzing all accidents, their causes and remedial measures and keep the abstract of it.
• Suggest and implement the requisite safety measures, after appraisal of statistical data.
• Carry out the safety analysis of critical jobs and plant safety inspections.
• Advise & assist to carry out plant safety inspections for the purpose of improving safety.
• Design and implement new, safe working condition and working actions. Safe working conditions include all safety devices, engineering controls, process revisions, machine guarding, safe working procedures, accident preventive measures etc.
• Train all subordinates and workers for their safety duties. A program of constant training and refresher course to be arranged. Utilize modern techniques for safety training, arrange to display more safety posters signs etc.
• Prepare Safety Manual and Emergency Preparedness Plan for the purpose of detailed safety and to control abnormal situations.
• Advise and follow periodical medical checking and testing schedule.
• Take utmost care for chemicals hazards, occupational health & hygiene, diseases and poisoning.
• Act as adviser to the management, advise based on the knowledge, experience and judgments regarding safety decisions.
• Ensure the basic safety rules are followed in the design stage of building, plant, process, storage, handling, etc., and in all working conditions, actions, usage of machines, material.
