Job Responsibilities:
∎ Develop and enforce solar-specific health and safety policies, procedures, and protocols that address unique hazards associated with solar power plant operations, such as electrical safety, fall protection, fire safety and equipment handling.
∎ Conduct regular site inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards, assess risks, and recommend and implement preventive measures.
∎ Lead investigations of workplace incidents, accidents, and near-misses, analyze root causes, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
∎ Develop and deliver specialized safety training programs tailored to the solar industry, ensuring that employees and contractors are well-prepared to work safely in a solar power plant environment.
∎ Develop, review, and update emergency response plans specific to the solar power plant, including procedures for electrical emergencies, fires, and other critical situations.
∎ Monitor and ensure compliance with all applicable solar energy industry regulations, local, state, and federal safety laws, and environmental standards.
∎ Implement and oversee safety practices related to the installation, maintenance, and cleaning of solar panels, ensuring the safety of personnel working on or near them.
∎ Ensure strict adherence to electrical safety standards and practices, including lockout/tagout procedures and arc flash protection.
∎ Maintain accurate records of safety incidents, training, and inspections. Prepare and submit required safety reports to regulatory agencies as necessary.
∎ Facilitate safety committee meetings, engage employees and contractors in safety initiatives, and ensure that safety concerns are addressed promptly.
∎ Ensure the availability, proper use, and maintenance of PPE specifically tailored to the solar power plant environment.
∎ Conduct periodic safety audits and inspections of the solar power plant infrastructure, including electrical systems, structures, and equipment.
∎ Address environmental health concerns related to the solar power plant's operation and implement strategies for minimizing environmental risks.
∎ Evaluate the safety performance of vendors and contractors working on-site and ensure their compliance with safety standards.
∎ Continuously identify opportunities for improving safety practices and processes specific to the solar power plant and implement necessary changes.

Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at most 35 years
∎ Both males and females are allowed to apply

∎ Proven experience as a Health & Safety Officer in the solar energy or related industry.
∎ In-depth knowledge of fire & health compliance, safety requirements and best practices will get priority.
∎ Familiarity with electrical safety standards and practices in the renewable energy sector.
∎ Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
∎ Detail-oriented with excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
∎ Proficiency in safety management software and tools.
∎ Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
