Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Ensure partners conduct participatory Collective Consultation Lessoning Sessions (CCLS) process in identifying exact community needs at field level
∎ Support partners to conduct effective participatory joint action planning (JAP) of the community and execution of project activities in alignment with objectives, focusing on community-led disaster preparedness, advocacy, and governance strengthening
∎ Coordinate with coalition members, CBOs, and local stakeholders to facilitate smooth program implementation
∎ Monitor activity timelines, ensuring loyalty to project deliverables and quality standards by project implementing partners.
∎ Support partners soft advocacy initiatives on climate resilience, land rights, embankment restoration, and disaster risk reduction (DRR)
∎ Supervise partners to engage with local government agencies and development partners to promote locally led disaster preparedness strategies
∎ Conduct training sessions and workshops for CBOs, community members, and coalition partners on disaster resilience, governance, and financial sustainability
∎ Strengthen community leadership by facilitating participatory decision-making processes through CBOs
∎ Support coalition partners in developing effective communication strategies to enhance grassroots advocacy
∎ Provide Support to the partner CBO organisation in their organisation development initiatives
∎ Provide proper guidance on Policy formation, organisational governance establishment and quality activity implementation in the field to the partner CBO organisations
∎ Assist in designing and implementing the MEAL framework to track project impact, lessons learned, and areas for improvement
∎ Conduct field visits to assess project progress and gather qualitative and quantitative data for reporting
∎ Support in preparing donor reports, ensuring transparency and accountability in project execution
∎ Support timely report submission of the implemented partner organisation. 5. Partnership & Stakeholder Engagement
∎ Establish and maintain strong relationships with local government officials, NGOs and community-based organizations
∎ Facilitate cross-learning exchanges between coalition members and external partners
∎ Assist in identifying funding opportunities and drafting project proposals to secure financial resources for long-term coalition sustainability
∎ Support coalition in fundraising strategies and financial sustainability plans
∎ Document project success stories, case studies, and impact reports to attract donor support
∎ Perform any additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor to support project success
∎ Ensure regular communication with the project team and external stakeholders for effective monitoring and decision-making
∎ About LCA Sundarban Coalition
∎ The Sundarban Coalition is a platform of 16 local organisations in the Southwest coastal zone of Bangladesh. The coalition was initiated in Bangladesh in 2022 and aspires to promote “disaster ready” communities while fostering a collective leadership of the local CBOs. This coalition is formed in partnership with the Local Coalition Accelerator (LCA), an initiative of The Share Trust and the Warande Advisory Centre, and in collaboration with Start Fund Bangladesh and Margaret A. Cargill Philanthropies (MACP). The LCA has started its third phase which is being hosted by Association of Voluntary Actions for Society (AVAS). The LCA aims to support local and national organizations to lead in the design and execution of large-scale systems change, and to facilitate their direct access to the significant bilateral and multilateral financing that is currently channelled almost exclusively to and through UN or INGO vehicles. The LCA initiative envisions shifting greater funding and power to local actors, while also changing donor processes and systems to be more equipped to accompany and complement community-driven initiatives.
∎ KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
∎ This position is accountable to
∎ a) Ensure that all coalition activities, such as disaster preparedness programs, advocacy efforts, and governance strengthening of the coalition, are carried out effectively and efficiently following coalition principles and standards. Coordinate with project implementing partners (CBO and LNO) tasks to keep projects running smoothly and achieve set goals.
∎ b) Develop and maintain good relationships with coalition members, local government officials, and community-based organizations. Work together to improve project impact and long-term sustainability.
∎ c) Supervise and monitor project activities, ensure quality implementation, gather data and document lessons learned. Support CBOs and LNOs reporting efforts to keep stakeholders informed, ensuring transparency and accountability.
∎ d) Organize training and different field based planning sessions to strengthen the skills of coalition members/CBOs and local communities. Encourage active participation of CBOs and communities to build capacity and drive positive change.
∎ This position will fully support the Coalition Coordinator in managing the tasks mentioned under the leadership of the Coalition Coordinator and maintaining a transparent communication and trusting relationship with all the organisations mentioned above.
∎ Key Responsibilities
