Project Summary:
The RMNCAH (Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, Child and Adolescent Health) Project aims to improve access to and quality of essential health services for women, newborns, children, and adolescents at community and facility levels. Through community mobilization, technical support, and health system strengthening, the project seeks to reduce preventable maternal, neonatal, and child morbidity and mortality and contribute to improved public health outcomes.
Position Summary:
The Project Coordinator (PC) will provide overall leadership and operational management of the RMNCAH Project. The position is responsible for planning, implementation, supervision, budget oversight, coordination with stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with donor and organizational standards. The PC will promote safeguarding, gender equality, inclusion, and data-driven decision-making to achieve improved health outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Programme Management & Implementation
Develop and implement Detailed Implementation Plans (DIP), work plans, and activity schedules aligned with project objectives and budget.
Oversee day-to-day project implementation ensuring quality, timelines, and target achievement.
Integrate gender equality, safeguarding, disability inclusion, and accountability principles.
Conduct regular review meetings and adapt activities based on contextual needs.
Technical Leadership-RMNCAH
Provide technical guidance on maternal, newborn, child, and adolescent health interventions.
Support quality implementation of ANC/PNC services, institutional delivery promotion, essential newborn care, integrated child health services, and adolescent health awareness.
Strengthen coordination with public health facilities and build capacity of frontline health workers and community volunteers.
Ensure behavior change communication activities follow national and WHO standards.
Compliance, Safeguarding & Accountability
Ensure compliance with donor agreements, organizational policies, and safeguarding standards.
Maintain Complaint Response Mechanism (CRM) and promote zero tolerance toward exploitation, abuse, or misconduct.
Ensure proper documentation and audit preparedness.
Financial & Operational Management
Monitor budget utilization, expenditure tracking, and financial documentation.
Coordinate with Finance and Admin teams to ensure compliance with procurement and financial procedures.
Promote cost-efficiency and value-for-money principles.
Monitoring, Evaluation & Reporting
Ensure accurate data collection, monitoring visits, and verification processes.
Analyze programme data to support decision-making and improvement.
Prepare high-quality narrative and progress reports and facilitate donor monitoring visits.
Document success stories, lessons learned, and best practices.
Team Leadership & Coordination
Supervise project staff, set performance objectives, and provide mentoring.
Represent AVAS in district coordination meetings and maintain collaboration with Civil Surgeon Office, DGHS, DGFP, local government, and community stakeholders.
Ensure project visibility and alignment with national RMNCAH priorities.
Risk Management & Documentation
Identify operational and contextual risks and implement mitigation measures.
Maintain organized project records and contribute to organizational learning and future programme development.
Required Competencies
Strong knowledge of Maternal & Neonatal Health, IMCI, Adolescent SRHR, and community health systems.
Experience working with DGHS/DGFP structures and managing health project logframes.
Familiarity with WHO and national RMNCAH standards.
Strong leadership, coordination, analytical, and report-writing skills.
Proficiency in MS Office applications.
Knowledge of safeguarding, compliance, and accountability frameworks.
