Responsibilities & Context:

BRAC is an international development organisation founded in Bangladesh in 1972 that partners globally with over 100 million people living with inequality and poverty to create opportunities to realise their potential.

The Field Facilitator will be responsible for supporting the implementation of the Humanitarian Play Lab (HPL) project at the camp and host. He/she will mobilize Play Leaders, CBCPC members, Para counsellors, monitoring daily activities, and assisting in child-centered learning sessions. The role involves direct interaction with children, caregivers, play leaders, and community stakeholders to promote inclusive, safe and playful learning for children affected by emergencies. This position will also conduct daily supervisory visits of HPL to evaluate adherence to minimum standards for operation.

  • Engage community leaders, parents, caregivers and other stakeholders to build awareness in the Humanitarian Play Lab model.

  • Conduct survey for 0-3 & 3-5 cohorts and select learners for the enrolment

  • Mobilize and enrol eligible children into the Play Lab and Learning Centre activities

  • Encourage father and mother engagement along with community participation in the HPL through regular visits, CBCPC meeting, monthly parents meeting, feedback sessions and collaborative planning

  • Assist Play Leaders, Father & Mother Volunteers in organizing sessions through play-based activities.

  • Ensure play materials, tools, and low and no cost materials are available and properly use.

  • Monitor children’s attendance, active participation and wellbeing on a daily basis.

  • Participate in various training sessions related to early childhood development, psychosocial support and play-based learning

  • Uphold child safeguarding and protection policies in all activities.

  • Identify and refer at risk children or protection cases to the appropriate services to Para counsellors, Psychologist or focal points.

  • Promote a safe, non-discriminatory and nurturing for all children, regardless of background or ability.

Safeguarding

  • Ensure the safety of Programme Participants, people who come into contact with the organisation and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) to achieve the programme`s goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.

  • Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action. 

  • Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do so.
