Responsibilities & Context:

RSGT, operator of Saudi Arabia`s largest container terminal at Jeddah Islamic Port, is actively looking for outstanding Talents to join our planned operations in RSGT Chittagong, Bangladesh. Established in 2009 as Saudi Arabia`s first private terminal operating company, RSGT is now the busiest container terminal on the Red Sea, handling more than three million containers (TEU) annually, and we are expanding our operations into new global markets. Your Detailed Responsibilities In This Position Will Be:

  • Develop and implement long-term and short-term strategic plans for the terminal. Oversee all aspects of terminal operations, including yard operations, gate management, cargo handling, equipment maintenance, and terminal security. Make critical decisions related to operational effectiveness and resource allocation.

  • Lead the selection, negotiation, and finalization of agreements with suppliers and customers. Oversee the execution and maintenance of agreed-upon service levels. Monitor and ensure concession agreements are met and delivered according to established timelines.

  • Liaise closely with shipping companies, customs agents, trucking companies, customs authorities, port authorities, and other stakeholders to fulfil their requirements and maintain positive relationships.

  • Set and achieve the budget for the Operations Division, including both capital expenditure (CAPEX) and operational expenditure (OPEX). Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives.

  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives in terminal processes, systems, procedures, and policies.

  • Drive advancements in technology and systems to enhance cost-efficiency, productivity, and customer service. Ensure service levels meet or exceed international standards.

  • Maintain clear reporting structures and information flow management within the Operations Division.

  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment within the Operations Division, ensuring a shared vision and commitment. Implement effective succession planning, people management, development, and recruitment & retention strategies.

  • Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure safe and efficient cargo handling practices.

  • Ensure strict adherence to health, safety, security, and environmental (HSSE) policies and procedures by all operational staff. Enforce safe working practices and actively promote a culture of safety to minimize lost-time injuries.

  • Identify skills gap, learning opportunities; ensure all managers and operational staff receive comprehensive training in best practices, advanced operations strategies, and new technologies.

  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement corrective actions as necessary to achieve performance targets.

  • Maintain regular communication channels with higher management, providing timely updates on terminal condition, performance, and operational status.

  • Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices in container terminal operations.
