Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Oversee the entire process of receiving, discharging, storing & delivery of Import LCL cargo within the Container Freight Station (CFS).
∎ Collaborate with the Yard Planner to develop the CFS operational plan for upcoming LCL cargo shipments, aligning with vessel schedules.
∎ Meticulously analyse container list documentation and declared commodities to devise cargo placement strategies within the CFS as per available space.
∎ Partner with the Operations Superintendent and Stevedore Manager(s) to develop strategies and mitigate associated risks.
∎ Coordinate with the Yard Operations Assistant (YOA) regarding container transfer volumes from the Yard to the CFS and disposal of empty containers accordingly.
∎ Proactively communicate with relevant stakeholders to ensure sufficient manpower and equipment are available for anticipated cargo handling activities.
∎ Closely supervise the unstuffing of cargo within the CFS, conducting inspections as necessary.
∎ Manage assigned personnel to ensure proper cargo placement within the designated shed based on the operational plan and commodity type.
∎ Based on inventory levels, proceed to store any remaining container cargo dumped at the yard. Optimize space utilization within the CFS by efficiently filling available shed space.
∎ Update the warehouse management system with accurate data regarding received cargo volume, evident damages, and delivery timelines.
∎ Communicate with vessel operators upon successful container unstuffing to initiate the cargo delivery process.
∎ Verify clearance documentation upon arrival of C&F for cargo delivery. Supervise the discharge of cargo into designated vehicles.
∎ Ensure proper completion of customs appraisals and verify the system for any outstanding issues before cargo handover.
∎ Maintain a comprehensive understanding of current customs regulations and incorporate them into CFS operations.
∎ Ensure all CFS operations adhere to established operational and safety protocols.
∎ Generate reports on productivity metrics related to LCL cargo handling within the CFS. Proactively identify opportunities for improvement and propose enhancements to optimize LCL cargo management processes.
