About PROGRESS Project
PROGRESS is a four-year program that aims to promote Green Growth in the Ready-Made Garments (RMG) sector in Bangladesh through skills development. The program is funded by the Embassy of Sweden and the Embassy of Switzerland in Bangladesh and implemented by Swisscontact. The program started in October 2022 and aims to contribute to the development of an inclusive, environmentally responsible, and competitive RMG sector that can offer secure and decent job opportunities, especially to women workers, while adapting to the changing demands of the global market in terms of technology and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) standards.
The program has two main goals that it seeks to achieve in the four-year project period. The first goal is to improve the technical skills and productivity of RMG workers, including 60% of women, to increase their retention rates and income. The second goal is to enhance the productivity, and environmental & social compliance of Tier-2 and Tier-3 RMG factories and provide decent employment opportunities to their workers.
Swisscontact PROGRESS Project is seeking applications from qualified candidates for the position of Business Administration Officer. The selected candidate will perform tasks related to human resources, office administration, and other related activities. We are specifically looking for a dedicated and hardworking business administration officer to support the team with day-to-day HR and administrative tasks.
Contract duration: Initial contract of one year with the possibility of extension till the end of the project.
Place of work: Dhaka with occasional field visits.
Major Tasks:
Execute HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and separation processes, ensuring compliance with Swisscontact and donor policies and regulations.
Manage and maintain staff timesheets and leave records with accuracy.
Assist in the preparation and issuance of contracts for individual consultants and staff.
Administer staff health insurance, including enrolment, claims processing, and coordination with insurance providers.
Support employee engagement initiatives and capacity-building programs.
Maintain an up-to-date inventory register, ensuring proper documentation and control of office assets and supplies.
Coordinate office facilities` maintenance to ensure a safe, efficient, and conducive work environment.
Process and maintain records of official correspondence, rent agreements, and administrative documentation.
Collaborate with the Country HR and Administration team to ensure consistent compliance with organizational standards and policies.
Conduct periodic reviews to confirm that administrative and HR deliverables align with programmatic and organizational requirements.
Prepare and maintain detailed records and reports on administrative and HR activities for internal use and donor reporting.
Serve as the focal point for administrative communication within the team, facilitating smooth coordination of tasks and responsibilities.
Assist the supervisor in monitoring and enhancing logistics and HR policies and procedures.
Actively participate in team meetings, providing valuable input to improve administrative processes.
Perform any other tasks as assigned by the supervisor, in alignment with the role’s responsibilities.
