∎ Minimum 5 years of experience in Berth/yard planning/container yard operations/marine logistics or relevant field.
∎ Experience in Planning using SPARCS or other terminal planning application is preferred.
∎ Bachelor’s degree in Port & maritime logistics/relevant field.
∎ Understanding of vessel berth operations
∎ TOS proficiency (N4 & SPARCS)
∎ Advanced understanding of transhipment documents
∎ Planning & optimization
∎ Minimum 5 years of experience in Berth/yard planning/container yard operations/marine logistics or relevant field.
∎ Experience in Planning using SPARCS or other terminal planning application is preferred.

Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Participate in strategic meetings with representatives from Chittagong Port Authority (CPA) to ensure optimal berth allocation for specific vessels.
∎ Prepare berth plan and update berth schedules outlining detailed vessel information, including draft, Estimated Time of Arrival (ETA), Estimated Time of Departure (ETD), and required crane intensity for efficient operation for all vessels scheduled to arrive in the next 48 hours.
∎ Co-ordinate with vessel agent to understand any changes in vessel Expected time of Arrival (ETA).
∎ Ensuring safe gap between two adjacent vessels while allocating berth.
∎ Upon vessel berthing, promptly update the Actual Time of Arrival (ATA) within the N4/SPARCS system for accurate tracking and planning purposes.
∎ Yard Planning & Management: Following clearance from the documentation team, develop strategic plans for import container yard placement. Consider factors such as container length, type (LCL/FCL), nature, and designated depot destinations. Additionally, plan the placement of empty import containers. Ensure the DG containers are segregated according to IMDG court before planning them in various blocks.
∎ Utilize a similar approach to plan the placement of export containers, considering their port destination, size, weight, and category.
∎ Develop plans for the efficient placement of containers within the SCY.
∎ Utilize real-time occupancy data from SPARCS to ensure precise container placement within the yard.
∎ Proactively monitor for any discrepancies between estimated container numbers/particulars and the actual containers present upon arrival. Implement corrective measures as needed to maintain accurate inventory records.
