Educational Requirements:
∎ BSC or MSC in Civil Engineering/ hydrology/ water engineering/ fluid dynamics or any other related field from any recognized university with minimum second class/division or equivalent GPA/CGPA in all academic examinations.

Experience Requirements:
∎ At least 3 year(s)

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Preparation of drawings (AutoCAD), BoQ/Cost Estimates and Tender documents for all WASH infrastructures
∎ Help design and revise the construction/rehabilitation works component of the project work-plan, and monitor that the implementation of the construction/ rehabilitation activities respects the time-table milestones and deadlines
∎ Verify the work done at site and recommend for the payments to contractor(s)/casual labors etc
∎ Develop technical resources (e.g. strategic framework, standard operating procedures (SOPs), manuals) to guide BRAC WASH Infrastructure interventions, drawing from international best practices, along with field specific observations
∎ Develop clear infrastructure monitoring tools (e.g. checklists)
∎ Define the reference standards to be adopted in the planned WASH infrastructure
∎ Regular monitoring of ongoing construction activities to ensure that all the activities are executing as per design, specifications and work schedule
∎ Develop and maintain good relationships and lines of communication with relevant local authorities and communities, prior to intervention explaining BRAC role as an NGO and liaising with them during all phases of the project
∎ Keep close coordination with contractors through regular meetings
∎ Extend all possible technical support to other team members and contractors when and where required
∎ Working in harmony with all other project staff and field team for the effective and efficient day-to-day management of the WASH project
∎ Coordinate with other stakeholders on the ground for smooth, efficient and effective implementation of the activities
∎ Preparation of weekly, monthly work plans and construction progress reports
∎ Preparation of feasibility studies/ reports, borehole pumping tests analysis & reporting and completion certificates
∎ Ensure that all WASH infrastructure data is well managed and provides an accurate representation of the reality on the ground.
∎ Submit regular reports related to the project’s WASH infrastructure to the Project Manager.
∎ Conduct trainings regarding operation and maintenance of water supply and sanitation facilities for beneficiaries and Water management committees
∎ Develop and execute a capacity building plan for BRAC Water, Sanitation, & Hygiene (WASH) staff.
∎ Conduct trainings for project staff and ‘Community WASH Focal Points’ on WASH infrastructure monitoring, operations, and maintenance.
∎ Attend and participate in capacity building trainings locally and internationally, if any
∎ Monitor expenditures, budgets, and track activity expenses; ensure that appropriate action is taken in a timely fashion
∎ Ensure the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation to achieve the programme’s goals on safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
∎ Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
∎ Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, encourage others to do so.
