The AGM / DGM - Wash Technologist serves as the deputy head and operational anchor for the Washing Department. Operating under the strategic guidance of the HoD, the DGM is responsible for transforming complex buyer wash requirements into consistent, high-quality bulk production. This role bridges the gap between creative design development and large-scale industrial execution, ensuring that every garment meets global standards for aesthetics, durability, and chemical compliance.
Job Responsibilities
To assist the HoD in leading and managing the wash processes for woven garments, focusing on the tactical execution of production plans.
To ensure the consistency and quality of wash effects across all production lines by supervising the technical teams on a daily basis.
To execute the development of new wash techniques and recipes as per the buyer’s requirements, bridging the gap between design and bulk production.
To monitor the day-to-day operations of the Chemical Store, ensuring proper handling, safety compliance, and accurate inventory levels for washing chemicals.
To troubleshoot technical wash-related problems on the floor immediately and implement corrective actions to minimize rejection rates.
To supervise the maintenance and optimal utilization of washing machines and laundry equipment to prevent downtime.
To translate customer specifications into technical "Wash Manuals" and ensure that the lab and production teams follow these standards strictly.
To coordinate closely with Merchandising and Production Managers to ensure timely delivery of washed garments as per the shipment schedule.
To implement new wash technologies and methods researched by the Sr. GM, ensuring the staff is trained and the materials are available.
To maintain comprehensive technical records, recipe logs, and production reports for review by the Head of Department.
To manage the wash department staff, including performance monitoring, shift scheduling, and skill development of junior technicians.
To ensure that all wash processes meet environmental and chemical compliance standards (e.g., ZDHC, OEKO-TEX) required by the buyers.
