∎ JOB PURPOSE: Lead the project team, and manage the implementation of agriculture insurance project activities, work plan and initiatives.
∎ SAFEGUARDING RESPONSIBILITIES:
∎ Ensure the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation to achieve the programme`s goals on safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
∎ Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
∎ Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, encourage others to do so.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Lead the project team, and manage the implementation of agriculture insurance project activities, work plan and initiatives. Ensure project implementation is on time and aligned with project goals.
∎ Provide technical support and guidance to the team in planning, implement, and monitor and evaluate the project through communication and regular field visit
∎ Drive market assessment, awareness creation campaigns among smallholders, capacity building of BRAC officials for the promotion of agriculture insurance
∎ Co-design innovative index insurance products with stakeholders and run pilot tests with the view of devising a scalable solution to mitigate risks of smallholder farmers
∎ Maintain strong coordination with diverse stakeholders (e.g. donors, insurers, regulators, development & financial institutions, technical partners, etc.) and clients
∎ Assist management in planning, designing, reviewing various initiatives, and providing technical input for achieving project goals and taking new initiatives
Additional Requirements:
∎ Crop Insurance experience is preferred
∎ Able to manage multi stakeholders partnership, regulator, value add in the business model
∎ Demonstrate knowledge, understanding and commitment to agriculture sector,
∎ value chain market development, agriculture risk mitigation
∎ Ability to follow project management plan and deliver task orders in a timely manner
∎ Must be a Bangladeshi national with strong understanding of agricultural sector and
∎ prepared to work with smallholders in Bangladesh.
∎ Excellent oral and written communication skills in Bangla and English
∎ Sound understanding on agriculture sector and financial sector including insurance
∎ and the role of government and regulators
∎ Professional qualification in Insurance will added value
∎ Minimum 10 years of working experience is required
