∎ General Functions:
∎ Under the overall supervision of the direct supervision of the Programme Manager/Pillar Head in Cox`s Bazar and overall supervision of the Head of Sub Office (HSO) the Senior Project Assistant (Bamboo treatment facility-Shelter/NFI); and, in collaboration with relevant units, the successful candidate will be responsible and accountable for implementing the programme functions in Sub-Office Cox`s Bazar.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ 1. Provide specialized assistance to the Shelter/NFI Programme Team in the planning, direct implementation and tracking of the IOM Bangladesh's Shelter/NFI Programme, including pipeline distribution, shelter trainings, Quality check of bamboo and large-scale production of treated bamboo.
∎ 2. Prepare timely periodical reports on bamboo treatment and allied activities at Bamboo Treatment facility, including organizing tests of treated bamboo, treatment chemical solution, filtrate and suggest recommendations on any course corrections in bamboo treatment to the supervisor/management for their information and necessary action.
∎ 3. Coordinate timely and adequate implementation of the all activities of Shelter/NFI Programme mainly bamboo treatment at scale, in line with the programme strategy, programme guidelines, targets and deadlines.
∎ 4. Assist the programme officers of Shelter/NFI in coordinating and monitoring various key activities at Bamboo treatment facility. This involves organizing the workforce for various activities and monitoring field staff and labor teams assigned for various activities of bamboo treatment.
∎ 5. Assist in conducting experiments and field trials for developing treatment system for small and medium bamboo based on lessons learnt from treatment of big bamboo. Also, provide support in organizing further experiments on optimizing treatment chemical for treatment.
∎ 6. Liaise with the local Government authorities for approval of treatment facility, environmental clearance etc from the respective government departments time to time in consultation and coordination with Programme Manager and Government Liaison staff of IOM.
∎ 7. Coordinate and manage the labor management in coordination with the vendor and ensure the digital labor attendance and payment take place in line with Shelter/NFI all other cash for work activities.
∎ 8. Produce daily and weekly progress reports, provide accurate data analysis and related updates, and share with project manager without delay. Identify, collect and document the best practices and disseminate at appropriate levels.
∎ 9. Represent the IOM Shelter/NFI Programme in relevant field coordination meetings and establish
∎ partnerships with stakeholders. Take minutes of the meeting and keep track of those meetings for
∎ filing and reporting purposes.
∎ 10. Perform any other duties as required and assigned by the supervisor and programme manager.

Additional Requirements:
∎ Experience in emergency response programming for marginalized populations, including need
∎ assessment, data collection, monitoring and review.
∎ Experience in shelter/NFI programme, particularly distribution and beneficiary training are an
∎ advantage.
∎ Experience in IOM administrative and financial management, budget monitoring, cash management and
∎ internal control procedures.
∎ Experience in the usage of office software packages (MS Word, Excel, etc.) and knowledge of spreadsheet and data analysis,
∎ Experience supervising the development and implementation of administrative control procedures.
