  • Effectively coordinates actions with other Senior Team Leaders.

  • Proficiency in computer applications will be an advantage.

  • Ability to work independently under minimal supervision.

Responsibilities & Context:

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:

Nature of the consultancy: The duties outlined of Senior Team Leader includes supporting the Operations Assistant with field assessments, reporting on progress and issues, monitoring and adjusting field operations, coordinating and conducting training for data collection teams, tracking data collection progress, liaising with stakeholders on field activities, organizing field missions, and performing additional assigned tasks.

Project Context and Scope: IOM`s Needs and Population Monitoring (NPM) unit works closely with the Inter-Sector Coordination Group (ISCG), the Sectors, other 10M units, and various organizations to support evidence-based humanitarian decision-making and prioritization by tracking needs and vulnerabilities through designing and conducting a wide range of assessments among both Rohingya and the host communities in Cox`s Baza, and by providing technical information management and GIS (mapping) support

The Senior Team Leader will be under the overall supervision of the NPM Coordinator in Cox`s Bazar, Bangladesh and the direct supervision of the Needs and Population Monitoring (NPM) Operations Assistant, the successful candidate will be for overseeing field operational aspects and requirements of NPM implementation and of various activities or projects which may develop within the NPM unit.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Category A Consultants: Tasks to be performed under this contract

  • Assist the Operations Assistant in supervising field assessments to gather timely and accurate information on displacement, population mobility, movement flows, and other relevant data sources.

  • Provide regular updates to the Operations Assistant on the progress of field activities, including challenges and other pertinent information related to NPM operations and implementation.

  • Continuously monitor field operations, propose improvements, and implement necessary adjustments to ensure effective and efficient execution.

  • Collaborate with the Operations Assistant to coordinate with team leaders and enumerators in preparing and delivering appropriate training sessions for the data collection team on NPM operations, data collection methods, and standard procedures.

  • Track the progress of data collection activities, ensuring timely completion and adherence to deadlines.

  • Assist the Operations Officer and Operations Assistant in liaising with relevant authorities, UN agencies, NGOs, government entities, and other stakeholders on operational matters. Represent NPM in relevant operational meetings in the field when required.

  • Contribute to the planning, organization, and deployment of NPM field missions.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned, ensuring alignment with the objectives of NPM operations
