Job Responsibilities:
∎ Under the overall supervision of the IOM Chief of Mission and the Site Management Sector Coordinator in Cox's Bazar, and the direct supervision of the Information Management Officer (IMO), the IM Assistant is responsible to carry out Information Management activities and support requirements of the coordination for Site management sector in Cox's Bazar.
∎ His/her core functions / responsibilities will entail:
∎ 1. Coordinate closely with SMSD sector partners to provide, timely, consistent and compatible data and information on sectorial needs and assistance for operational analysis and decision making.
∎ 2. Support IM Officer in creation, implementation and update of various sector tool and reports.
∎ 3. Provide draft and input on sector-specific maps and graphics on a regular basis that aid forward planning as well as impact analysis.
∎ 4. Carry out analysis of data as well as visualization for presentation to relevant stakeholders and reporting to ISCG as required.
∎ 5. Participate in establishing and maintaining the effective geographic information system in the context of sector, including the production of GIS related IM products both for operational purpose and information sharing and dissemination.
∎ 6. Participate in managing humanitarian data systems including Kobo and humanitarian websites.
∎ 7. Provide information outputs in the local language wherever feasible.
∎ 8. Liaise with ISCG and participate in the Information Management and Need Assessment Working Groups as required.
∎ 9. Establish contact with partner agencies when basic or special needs are identified.
∎ 10. Manage the contact lists, mailing lists and other communication medium at the Sector level.
∎ 11. Support and respect data confidentiality guidelines.
∎ 12. Any other duties that might be assigned.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Minimum four years of relevant work experience.
∎ Experience in emergency response in the field, Data Management or Information management, crisis, post conflict and other displacement situations;
∎ Understanding and respect of IOM's data protection guidelines;
∎ Knowledge of ArcGIS or any enterprise GIS software, Relational Database Management System (RDBMS), Software development tools, MS Office;
∎ Working experience in the region is an advantage.
∎ Applicants must have advanced Excel and MS Office skills.
∎ Excellent writing skills in English
