Job Context:
∎ JOB PURPOSE: Plan, implement, monitor, manage and coordinate the overall project activities at the field level; guide, supervise and ensure expected delivery of project staff (direct reports); communication and coordination with field level stakeholders for exchange of learnings and BRAC HO (CCP & UDP) for technical inputs; maintain meaningful communication and networking with concerned BRAC programmes, NGO`s, city mayor, other local government and government departments at the project site level for ensuring the quality of project delivery.
∎ SAFEGUARDING RESPONSIBILITIES
∎ Ensure the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation to achieve the programme`s goals on safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
∎ Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
∎ Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, encourage others to do so.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Overall planning, implementation and monitoring of project activities related to project outputs
∎ Support Local Adaptation Centre (LAC) to facilitate the process of developing Local Climate Adaption Plans (LCAPs), Ward Climate Adaptation Plans (WCAPs), and Town Climate Adaptation Plan (TCAP) as per guideline to enhance locally led adaptation for building community and city resilience
∎ Community Mobilisation- Support project staffs in organizing climate migrants and climate vulnerable communities into community groups and involve them in developing and implementing climate adaptation plans.
∎ Capacity building of LGIs, community participants, community-based organisations, project staff and collaborate with relevant stakeholders including civil society organizations on locally led adaptation, participatory planning and implementation.
∎ Set-up, operationalise and day-to-day management of the Local Adaptation Center (LAC) with support from Pourashava/City Mayor for ensuring coordinated and timely delivery of targeted outputs.
∎ Coordinate to all concerned in implementing targeted activities included in the LCAPs, WCAPs and TCAP by enhancing opportunities for education, skills training, jobs, income generation, financial inclusion, resilient community infrastructure, and social safety nets.
∎ Coordinate and collaborate with relevant stakeholders in all levels of climate action planning, prioritisation of climate adaptative interventions and demonstration/implementation.
∎ Identify potential network and linkage opportunities and develop partnerships with NGO-GO and private sector service providers and other BRAC programmes
∎ Guide and supervise field staffs to ensure all targets are met according to annual plan. Monitor progress of the project and ensure smooth field delivery of the activities.

∎ Knowledge on demonstrated ability to successfully manage large scale and complex projects
∎ Knowledge on current national and global development trends related to climate change, locally led adaptation, urban poverty, community vulnerability and urban development
∎ Knowledge on competence in analysing the social and gender dynamics within urban set up
∎ Knowledge on community organising and social mobilisation in urban informal settlements
∎ Knowledge on climate Change Adaptation, Urban Resilience, Resilient livelihood
∎ Knowledge on LGI and Community capacity building initiatives
∎ Knowledge on climate-resilient drinking water solutions at household and community level
∎ Excellent communication, presentation, organisation and negotiation skills
∎ Skills in documentation, facilitation & reporting
∎ Excellent leadership and people management, Strategic thinking; Decision making and problem solving skills
∎ Strong analytical skills, be gender sensitive, and possess a proven track record of working successfully in a variety of cultural contexts
∎ Excellent community mobilisation and participatory mapping skills
∎ Skills to implement household and community based rainwater harvesting system
∎ Market analysis and value chain building skills
∎ Financial and progress report preparation skills
∎ Advocacy skill with local and national stakeholders
∎ Minimum 05 years of work experience in development sector with NGOs or international development organisations including 3 years of particular experience in managing local development and climate change related projects/programmes
