Experience:

• At least 2 years

• Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Urban & Regional Planning, Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Industrial Engineering, Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Environmental Planning, Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Public Health
• Preferred Professional Certification: Must have professional trainings on health and safety
• Training/Trade Course: Health and Safety Training

• At least 2 years

• Age 25 to 35 years

• Minimum 2 years of work experience in any recognized, or industry-based OHS service.
• Knowledge of occupational health and safety practices.
• Ability to conduct site safety inspections and identify hazards.
• Knowledge of PPE, permit-to-work systems, emergency procedures, and risk assessment.
• Ability to prepare safety reports and ensure compliance with applicable safety requirements.
• Solid knowledge of local laws and ordinances on fire safety and prevention, loss control, hazardous chemicals, building, electrical, noise pollution and the environment
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel)
• Up-to-date knowledge on latest local and state regulation and guideline changes
• Navy Retired person will prepare
• Ship Breaking Yard working experience person will be preferred

Responsibilities & Context:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Occupational Health & Safety officer to join our growing team. In this position, the officer will play a key role in ensuring that all projects comply with government & company health and safety guidelines and procedures. The officer will also be responsible for ensuring the safety of all employees, make sure all projects are up to code, and provide advice and recommendations for safety improvements.

Workplace: Work at Ship yard

Job Responsibilities:

• Comply with all occupational health and safety (OHS) guidelines
• Inspect work-sites and review working conditions
• Document reports of accidental occurrences and record statistical information
• Develop and implement OHS training programs
• Maintain safety regulations during installations
• Oversee disposal of substances according to environmental guidelines
• Ensure statutes, regulations, and codes are clearly understood and met
• Intervene to stop any acts or processes which are unsafe or do not comply with OHS guidelines
• Implement preventative measures to ensure unsafe processes are not repeated
• Ensure all personnel follow all personal safety precautions (hardhats, protective goggles, etc.)
• Update procedures and policies for new regulations or local ordinances
