∎ Division/Unit: Needs and Population Monitoring (NPM)
∎ General Functions:
∎ Under the overall supervision of in Deputy Chief of Mission and Head of Operations, Cox`s Bazar, Bangladesh and the direct supervision of the Needs and Population Monitoring (NPM) Coordinator, under the supervision of the Reporting Officer, the successful candidate will be expected to support design, analysis and reporting activities and contribute towards overall publications and editorial process of NPM`s information product.
∎ 1. In collaboration with the Reporting Officer plan, coordinate, manage and implement data collection activities, conduct analysis in close collaboration with the relevant stakeholders.
∎ 2. Plan, develop and deliver training and capacity building for relevant partners on data collection and analysis based on NPM methodology and tools.
∎ 3. Collect and ensure accuracy and verification of data (data cleaning, monitoring), in collaboration with the NPM Operations Team.
∎ 4. Participate in design and development of products for the NPM program, such as
∎ a. data collection tools, comprehensive statistical reports;
∎ b. dissemination of products for NPM;
∎ c. provide user support, guidelines/training materials and training to relevant stakeholders in
∎ the deployment, use, operation, and maintenance of databases and data collection systems;
∎ d. prepare and develop analytical tools and reports for displacement trends, needs assessment
∎ and programme activities using the various program databases;
∎ e. participate in field visits and trainings.
∎ 5. Any other duties that might be assigned.
∎ Previous experience in reporting and data analysis, possibly in emergency contexts;
∎ Experience in data collection, research and report writing;
∎ Experience in relevant issues such as migration, displacement and humanitarian assistance;
∎ Numerical skills and experience in data analysis and visualization;
∎ Experience in writing technical requirement documents, translating/planning specifications to technical briefs for data capture/analysis; and compiling diverse datasets;
∎ Strong computer background, including experience with relational databases, Microsoft applications, spreadsheets, and word processing;
∎ Strong skills in of Excel, Word and InDesign;
∎ Good communication and negotiation skills.
