∎ The following position is subject to donor approval.
∎ Position Type: Mid-level position.
∎ Employment start: January 01, 2023
∎ Contract duration: Initial contract for one year; based on performance, the contract can be extended.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Strategy Development and Implementation:
∎ Support economic appraisals to identify the drivers and potential for LED in the selected municipalities by analysing the local government institutions (municipality) and relevant economic sectors;
∎ Support development of LED strategy in the selected municipalities including concept development and intervention design for public and private sectors;
∎ Support implementation and quality execution of short- and long-term strategies in the selected municipalities;
∎ Review progress of implementation portfolio of the project in the selected municipalities and provide necessary guidance to be able to achieve project goals;
∎ Update the management regularly of challenges faced in implementation of the project activities and jointly device mitigation measures;
∎ Partnership Development:
∎ Facilitate partnerships between local, national and global private sector firms and institutions to address LED needs and potentials. Maintain a robust stakeholder management plan;
∎ Identify and develop concepts in participatory approach with stakeholders and design implementation plans;
∎ Mobilize internal and external support for execution including administrative and programmatic support;
∎ Review and assess implementation progress and support necessary adjustment if required.
∎ Monitoring, Results Measurement and Learning :
∎ Monitor strategic progress of project activities at the local level and provide corrective support as and when required
∎ Maintain a culture of learning and sharing information with peer coordinators in different districts;
∎ Support MRM team to prepare project progress reports, including technical reports and other reports as per project requirement;
∎ Ensure that information and lessons learned are collected and knowledge shared with key stakeholders within and outside the organization including development and dissemination at the local, regional and national level;
Additional Requirements:
∎ At least 6 years of experience in reputed national NGOs or iNGOs; (S)he should have at least 3 (three) years of progressive experience in project management, coordination and stakeholder management; working experience with the local government will be an added advantage;
∎ Demonstrated experience in private sector development in its application to different economic sectors and contexts;
∎ Demonstrated experience in working with local and national government bodies;
∎ Ability to work productively in a highly collaborative setting (is a team player) while also able to operate independently with limited to no supervision;
∎ Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Bangla;
∎ A creative and motivated individual with the ability to think out of the box and take ownership of tasks;
∎ Works with trustworthiness and integrity and is committed to Swisscontact's core values; and
∎ Demonstrates awareness and sensitivity to gender and diversity (including sensitivity towards differently abled people).
∎ Physical Demand: Field visits play a large part in the incumbent's activities. The incumbent must show willingness and be able to take part in such activities as needed also on short notice.
