Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Textile Engineering, Knit Technology, or a related field.
Minimum 5–7 years of relevant experience in circular knitting production.
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Willingness to work in shifts or extended hours when required.
Responsibilities & Context:
Job Purpose
The Manager / Assistant Manager – Circular Knitting is responsible for planning, supervising, and controlling circular knitting operations to ensure consistent product quality, optimum productivity, and timely delivery. The role focuses on efficient use of machinery, manpower, and materials to support overall factory production goals.
Key Responsibilities
Production Planning & Operations
Plan and manage daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules for circular knitting operations in line with order requirements.
Ensure smooth and continuous operation of circular knitting machines to achieve production targets and delivery commitments.
Monitor machine efficiency, downtime, and output; take corrective and preventive actions to improve productivity.
Quality Control & Process Management
Ensure knitted fabric quality meets approved specifications, including GSM, width, elasticity, and appearance.
Identify, analyze, and reduce defects such as holes, needle lines, oil marks, uneven knitting, and shade variation.
Implement standard operating procedures to improve quality consistency and reduce rework and wastage.
Machine & Technical Supervision
Oversee machine settings, gauge selection, yarn feeding systems, and pattern adjustments as per production requirements.
Coordinate with maintenance teams for preventive maintenance and prompt resolution of mechanical or electrical breakdowns.
Support installation, trial runs, and commissioning of new circular knitting machines.
Yarn & Material Control
Coordinate with yarn dyeing, store, and planning teams to ensure availability of correct yarn type, count, color, and lot.
Monitor yarn consumption and wastage; take necessary measures to improve material utilization.
Ensure proper handling and storage of yarns to avoid damage and contamination.
Manpower Management & Leadership
Supervise and guide supervisors, operators, and helpers in the circular knitting section.
Ensure proper manpower deployment, shift planning, and productivity monitoring.
Train and develop team members on machine operation, quality standards, and work discipline.
Safety, Housekeeping & Discipline
Ensure safe machine operation and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Maintain good housekeeping and organized work areas within the knitting section.
Enforce factory rules, procedures, and discipline among employees.
Coordination & Reporting
Coordinate with quality, planning, maintenance, and other production departments to ensure smooth workflow.
Prepare and submit regular reports on production, efficiency, defects, and wastage to management.
Support buyer visits, internal reviews, and production meetings as required.
