Job Context:
∎ Location: Dhaka with possible visits to field locations
∎ Reports to: Team Leader, Sarathi Project
∎ Purpose: Assist the Team Leader in quality and timely delivery of project activities and achieve the desired outputs and outcomes
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Support the Team Leader and other team members to implement the project as per the donor mandate;
∎ Support the Team Leader to plan and budget project interventions;
∎ Lead preparation of partnership strategies, concept notes and intervention plans;
∎ Lead implementation of activities on the ground and support the Team Leader on strategic decision-making based on ground realities;
∎ Ensure that the project delivers all desired targets on time and with quality.
∎ Staff Management

∎ Oversee designated tasks of the Project Coordinators on a regular basis and guide them accordingly;
∎ Evaluate performances of the Project Coordinators quarterly and annually;
∎ Ensure capacity building of Project Coodinators through mentoring and coaching.
∎ Implementation & Stakeholder Management
∎
∎ Support the Team Leader to engage with commercial banks, Ready-Made Garment (RMG) buyers and RMG factories;
∎ Establish and maintain liaison with relevant government bodies, private partners, and other stakeholders of the project;
∎ Support the Team Leader to prepare selection matrix for commercial banks;
∎ Support the Team Leader to select additional commercial banks and RMG factories for interventions;
∎ Support the Team Leader to develop Terms of References and Memorandums of Understandings for consultants and project implementation partners, specifically commercial banks;
∎ Provide support to the Project Coordinator - Partnerships & Advocacy to manage relationship with RMG factories and community leaders;
∎ Provide technical support to the Project Coordinator - Monitoring & Results Measurement (MRM) to prepare MRM plans;
∎ Lead engagement with partner commercial banks and their account holders and support the Project Coordinator - MRM to draw insights about their financial behaviour, including number of transactions, amount deposited, amount withdrawn, etc.;
∎ Lead engagement with banking agents and support the Project Coordinator - MRM to draw insights about their business sustainability, specifically investigate their services, fees, floating money, etc.;
∎ Support the Project Coordinator - MRM to monitor and track the progress/achievement of project interventions;
∎ Take lead as the resource person on Gender and Social Issues;
∎ Proactively engage in learning from different stakeholders to identify innovative solutions related to financial inclusion of the underprivileged and underserved;
∎ Support the Team Leader to collaborate with the other projects within Swisscontact for efficient and effective project implementation and mutual learning.
∎ Communication and Reporting

∎ Support the Team Leader to prepare project progress reports (monthly, bi-annually and annually), including technical reports and other reports as per project requirement;
∎ Take lead in organising different seminars and workshops to disseminate project learnings as and when required; and represent the project during relevant information events;
∎ Support the Project Coordinator - Partnerships & Advocacy to prepare communication materials based on findings.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Demonstrable experience of designing and implementing Market Systems Development approaches, specific experience in RMG would be preferred;
∎ Understanding of incentives of private sector actors, including small and medium enterprises, to adopt new business models;
∎ Experience of designing and imlpementing public-private initiatives is highly desirable;
∎ Experience of directly working with commercial banks, specifically in retail banking services, would be an added advantage;
∎ Strong understanding of Donor Committe for Enterprise Development Standards, gender issues and branchless banking (including mobile financial services) or work environment of banking and non-banking financial institutions;
∎ Practical understanding of the socio-political and economic context of Bangladesh;
∎ Strong leadership and management skills and ability to deliver complex tasks within deadline in a dynamic and fast-paced environment;
∎ Proficient in English and Bangla;
∎ Advanced level of competency of using computer applications like MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook and Powerpoint);
∎ Ability to work in a team and to meet tight deadlines in a dynamic and fast-paced work environment.
∎ Field visits play a large part in the incumbent's activities; as such, it is expected that the incumbent is willing and able to take part in such activities as and when needed and sometimes within short notice.
