Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Manage recruitment and onboarding of staff specific to a retail environment, ensuring staff is well-prepared for customer-facing roles.
∎ Develop and manage comprehensive job descriptions for all staff positions, communicate these to employees, ensure they understand their roles, and regularly assess if staff responsibilities align with their job descriptions.
∎ Oversee employee attendance, payroll processing, and leave management, optimizing staffing levels for peak store hours.
∎ Conduct performance evaluations, coordinate appraisals, and track employee goals, with a focus on customer service standards and sales targets.
∎ Enforce company policies, ensuring a positive, customer-focused work environment while maintaining compliance with labor laws.
∎ Address employee queries related to HR policies, benefits, and procedures, providing support tailored to retail needs.
∎ Support conflict resolution and manage disciplinary actions when required, addressing common retail challenges like shift punctuality and customer service standards.
∎ Facilitate training and development initiatives focused on retail skills, customer service excellence, and product knowledge.
∎ Maintain accurate employee records, ensuring compliance with retail industry regulations and labor laws.
∎ Coordinate scheduling to balance staff availability with store traffic, ensuring optimal coverage during high-traffic periods.
∎ Assist in audits, update HR policies as necessary, and collaborate with store management to ensure smooth daily operations and a productive work environment.

The ideal candidate will have prior HR experience in a super shop or retail environment and must be based in Sylhet.
