∎ As the Head of Compliance, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that our company adheres to all relevant laws, regulations, and ethical standards throughout the supply chain. You will lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of compliance programs to safeguard our brand`s reputation and demonstrate our dedication to responsible practices.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Responsible for ensuring business effective systems, procedures and controls for compliance with requirements and standards under the regulatory system, including risk management and governance.
∎ Development of a proactive, risk based compliance monitoring programme, including regular reviews of business activities.
∎ Identify opportunities to enhance system functionality to efficiently meet the business goals and objectives.
∎ Proactively monitor changes in business processes and provide guidance and support.
∎ Monitoring Labor Industrial law. To maintain regular close communication with the concerned buyers and their nominated audit team as per schedule, making necessary correspondence with team and respond to their all queries/ information.
∎ Monitor compliance certification BSCI, WRAP, SEDEX and SLCP.
∎ Active participation in the Compliance Risk Assessment Process.
∎ Conduct audits of controls.
∎ Collate/ update/ escalate Management information for Compliance Management.
∎ Analyzing and implementing sustainable processes.
∎ Leading regular calls for monitoring compliance environment across client accounts.
∎ Partnering with the Audit team to develop annual audit plan.
∎ To monitor the floor for checking all kinds of compliance issues.
∎ To motivate the employees for maintaining all kind of personal safety.
∎ Train up all employees on all safety awareness issue; maintain all kinds of training records.
∎ To aware the employees regarding health and safety issues.
∎ Ensure the factories are compliance with social ethics & health and safety requirements, etc.
∎ To find out the non-compliance issues by the daily monitoring & internal audit in the factory. Conduct internal audit in the light of Labor Law, Factory Rules buyers COC & other national & international legal instruments.
∎ Maintain every compliance mechanism/tools internally; through weekly, monthly and yearly comparative statistical report & tools.
∎ Give Suggestions to the management regarding several important pronouncement and decisions of Law & other COC.
∎ Conduct in house training for all employees on OH&S, EMS, Fire Safety, Grievance etc. as advised by factory management.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age 35 to 50 years
∎ Track record of success and building high performance teams.
∎ Managing day to day regulatory compliance relationships reviewing, tracking and approving all regulatory report responses and remediation plans.
∎ Managing day to day regulatory compliance issues that arise from audit engagements and coordinate responses and tracking of regulatory issues.
∎ Significant experience in the apparel industry is crucial. Understanding the supply chain, manufacturing processes, and regulatory landscape specific to the apparel sector is essential to effectively manage compliance issues.
∎ In-depth knowledge of relevant laws and regulations pertaining to the apparel industry is a must. This includes understanding labor laws, environmental regulations, import/export requirements, product safety standards, and other industry-specific compliance areas.
∎ The ability to identify and assess compliance risks within the company's operations and supply chain is vital. As the head of compliance, you will need to develop strategies to mitigate risks and implement effective control measures.
∎ Strong leadership skills are necessary to manage a team of compliance professionals and collaborate with other departments within the organization. Excellent communication skills are essential for interacting with stakeholders, suppliers, auditors, and external regulatory bodies.
∎ Obtaining relevant certifications related to compliance in the apparel industry can be advantageous. For example, certifications in supply chain sustainability, social compliance auditing, or product safety can demonstrate your expertise.
∎ Upholding ethical standards is fundamental for someone in this position. You will need to demonstrate a commitment to promoting fair labor practices, environmental sustainability, and corporate social responsibility.
