Strong background in multi-channel merchandising (Retail/Franchise/Wholesale).
Proven expertise in production planning, stock control and product development coordination.
Excellent analytical skills with a strong command of sales forecasting and inventory management.
Leadership ability to manage and develop high-performing merchandising teams.
Strong communication, planning and decision-making skills.
About the Role
Express Leather Products Ltd. is looking for a highly skilled and strategic General Manager – Merchandising to lead the full merchandising operations across all business channels, including Retail, Franchise, Wholesale and Institutional sales. The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving product strategy, planning, product development coordination, inventory management and seasonal merchandising operations to maximise sales, margin and profitability.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Strategy & SOP Development
Develop, implement and standardise SOPs, documentation and formats for the merchandising department.
Ensure smooth coordination and compliance across all merchandising activities.
Merchandising Leadership
Lead, direct, supervise and control all merchandising operations across Footwear, Apparel and Accessories.
Guide the merchandising team in developing seasonal product lines and collections.
Sales, Production & Stock Planning
Prepare seasonal estimates, including:
Sales: Sales pairs, turnover, and profit margins.
Production: Estimates for own factory, local outsourcing, and imports.
Stock: Monthly stock forecasts by product category and channel.
Conduct monthly sales and stock analysis and implement corrective strategies.
Product Development & Production Coordination
Collaborate with Product Development and Factory teams on new product projects, innovations and timely production.
Lead production planning for in-house manufacturing and external sourcing based on OTB (Open-to-Buy) estimates.
Distribution & Channel Management
Plan and manage product distribution across Retail, Franchise, Wholesale and Institutional channels.
Initiate and manage seasonal promotions, markdowns and pricing revisions.
Budget & Inventory Control
Oversee budgeting and stock management across all channels and product categories.
Ensure optimised inventory levels to support sales demand while minimising excess stock.
