Job Responsibilities:
∎ Ensure fabric is quality managed to meet quality standards on time following critical paths.
∎ Assess proposed fabrics are fit for purpose at the product development stage
∎ Providing fabric technical support to internal departments and customers.
∎ After getting fabric swatch from buying team or buyer conduct detailed analysis and evaluation on fabric structure, design analysis and detail knowledge about their backward and forward process like types of yarn, winding, warping, sizing, drawing, denting, knitting and weaving, greige fabric inspection, dyeing, finishing, overdye, washing, etc.
∎ Declare its fabrication, construction, weave, weight, color pattern and repeat size, finish type, and finished width of the swatch received from the buyer
∎ Advise fabric suppliers of all required standards updating details as necessary.
∎ Record and assess test results of all fabric qualities ensuring they meet customer's requirements.
∎ Follow up Time & Action (TNA) with the factory to ensure timely fabric in-house
∎ Follow up the quality of fabric as per standard, shade band lot wise and ensure approval
∎ Monitor the fabric production in the factory: yarn in-house, knitting, dyeing, and update concern merchant team, QA team, and top management.
∎ Oversee follow up of inventory, yarn in-house, knitting, dyeing of fabric as per TNA to ensure no delays
∎ Ensure use of chemicals in dyeing fabrics are from buyer nominated sources and chemicals are using following ISO chemical standards
∎ Monitor and follow up with fabric mill for testing fabric composition, GSM, physical/chemical test, hand-feel, appearance, shade, shrinkage, etc
∎ Ensure the fabric is in-housed on time to ensure cutting starts as per Planned Cut Date (PCD) and update quality and merchant team
∎ Maintain good liaison with factory technical manager to proactively mitigate production issues
∎ Handle fabric issues and provide solutions and options to ease production
∎ Provide guidelines on fabric process and other technical issues to the QA team and factory fabric technical team.
∎ Conduct random inspection of bulk fabric, undertaking quality evaluations of materials and checking the quality of the final product
∎ Conduct visits to factories to resolve fabric technical issues
Additional Requirements:
∎ Knowledge about buyer's requirement and testing protocol, ensure mills are following buyer's respective protocol.
