Responsibilities & Context:
o Ensure smooth communications with Buyers and suppliers on day-to-day merchandising activities
o Understand customer requirements and closely work with relevant teams to manage the correct samples within timelines and quality
o Set priorities, develop a work schedule, and monitor progress towards goals, and track details, data, information, and activities
o Accomplish and oversee the merchandising cycle (File / Record keeping / Sampling / T&A / QA file making / Production follow ups / Shipment booking etc.)
o Engage in costing and price negotiation with Buyers and suppliers
o Coordinate and monitor quality of the product through quality personnel
o Maintain Time and Action (T&A) plan and ensure on-time shipment
o Trouble-shotting / anticipate and solve the problems in a timely manner.
o Visit fabric/textile mills, garment production, printing, washing factories and build long-term relationship with suppliers for current and future orders
o Recommend any changes to the products or process improvements, which can help make production friendlier for construction without changing the aesthetics of the garment
o Conduct production meetings with the factories and QC team as per the allocated time and follow up with the factories on the progress of the orders
o Review new tech packs and developments to identify any critical points and provide the right details to the factory
o Ensure all customer requirements are met in production based on customer tech packs
o Understand ethical behavior and business practices and ensure own behavior and the behavior of others is consistent with these standards and aligns with the values of the organization
o Supervise Merchandiser/ Junior Merchandiser
Additional Requirements:
o Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
o Strong negotiation and motivational skills
o Capable to handle buyers independently
o Have extensive experience of product development, sourcing of materials, production tracking and execution of small/large volume orders, and various styles orders independently.
o Have sound knowledge of costing.
o Must be knowledgeable of garments construction and fabric, print, embellishments etc.
o Demonstrate a solid understanding of the overall manufacturing process.
o Possess a high energy level, sense of urgency & the ability to work well under pressure and very organized.
o Must be self-motivated, confident and proactive.
o FASHION SENSE Important
o Strong team spirit and passionate.
o Strong interpersonal skills, ability to interact and build relationships and work as a team
