Educational Qualification

Bachelor’s degree in Textile, Apparel, Fashion, Business Administration, or a related discipline.

Relevant professional qualifications/training in merchandising will be an added advantage.

Experience

5–7 years of relevant experience in Garments Merchandising, preferably in a reputed export-oriented RMG manufacturing company.

Candidates with strong experience in Next, Kiabi, and/or Inditex will be highly preferred.

Must have solid experience in product development, costing, sampling, order execution, production follow-up, and shipment.

Required Skills & Competencies

Strong knowledge of garment merchandising and export order execution.

Excellent understanding of T&A, costing, consumption, production planning, and shipment processes.

Strong buyer communication and negotiation skills.

Good knowledge of fabrics, trims, garment construction, washing, printing, and embroidery.

Strong follow-up and problem-solving ability.

Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple orders simultaneously.

Strong analytical and decision-making skills.

Good command of English communication, both written and verbal.

Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.

Strong team coordination and leadership capability.

Result-oriented, proactive, and capable of meeting tight deadlines.

Responsibilities & Context:

Position Summary

We are looking for an experienced and proactive Assistant Manager – Merchandising to manage and execute merchandising activities from product development through bulk shipment. The ideal candidate should have strong experience in woven garment merchandising and proven exposure to international buyers, particularly Next, Kiabi, Inditex etc. The candidate will be responsible for buyer communication, product development, costing, order execution, production follow-up, and ensuring timely delivery while maintaining required quality and compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the complete merchandising process from product development, sampling, costing, order confirmation, production follow-up, and shipment.

  • Communicate and coordinate effectively with buyers and buying offices regarding product development, comments, approvals, orders, and shipment schedules.

  • Handle buyer requirements and ensure all products are developed according to buyer specifications and standards.

  • Prepare and follow up on T&A, order sheets, BOM, consumption, costing, and production plans.

  • Prepare accurate garment costing based on fabric, trims, CM, washing, printing/embroidery, accessories, and other relevant cost components.

  • Coordinate with Design, Product Development, CAD, IE, Planning, Production, Quality, Commercial, and Sourcing teams to ensure smooth order execution.

  • Follow up on fabric and trims development, lab dips, strike-offs, accessories, and approvals.

  • Monitor sample development and ensure samples are submitted within agreed timelines.

  • Review buyer comments and coordinate corrective actions with the relevant departments.

  • Closely monitor production progress against the approved T&A and shipment plan.

  • Identify potential delays or risks and take proactive corrective measures to ensure on-time delivery.

  • Ensure all buyer requirements, specifications, quality standards, and compliance requirements are properly communicated and followed.

  • Maintain strong working relationships with buyers, buying houses, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.

  • Negotiate with suppliers and internal teams where required to achieve competitive costing and timely execution.

  • Prepare regular order status reports and provide updates to management.

  • Support the merchandising team in achieving OTD, quality, profitability, and customer satisfaction targets.

  • Guide and support junior merchandisers in day-to-day order execution and problem solving.
