Community Development Centre (CODEC) invites application for the following position from the potential Bangladeshi nationals for implementing “Rohingya Children and Adolescents aged 3-18 receive gender responsive, quality, inclusive education through the Myanmar curriculum and Early Childhood Development in the Rohingya refugee response, Cox’s Bazar Project”. Please note that, duration of this project is up to March 31, 2026. Extension of this project will be made based on the approval of new PD.
Under the supervision of the Programme Manager; the purpose of the ECE Officer’s role is to ensure all sorts of educational support in Training curriculum development, Conduct training for School Supervisors, Teachers, Headteachers, etc with the approved work plan. The program is implemented with the objectives of creating a safe and protected child-friendly environment and providing quality basic education to some 45,000 Rohingya children in the camp and makeshift involving communities through the following achievements:
Ensure enrollment of 3150 of 5-6 years Rohingya children.
Ensure enrollment of 24549 primary school-aged children in primary education including
retention of students.
Ensure enrollment of 1803 secondary school-aged young people in secondary education
including adolescent club and ADGLiB
3394 community sharing/parenting sessions will be organized.
Key area of Performance/ Responsibility/ Accountability:
Prepare an annual activity plan forthe CODEC-UNICEF Education Project under the guidance of UNICEF.
Provide input in developing operational guidelines for ECD activities
Provide input in developing operational guidelines for Bangladeshi Teachers, Refugee Teachers Host Teachers, and ECD.
Assist in developing different training courses and training materials for the respective fields;
Organize and conduct training, workshops, and refreshers for the School Supervisor, teachers, andvolunteers
Ensure frequent camp visits and provide continuous support to the School Supervisors and teachersand share with PM.
Responsible for leading, guiding, and supervising the teachers, students, and caregivers. animators.
To keep a close connection with parents, students, LINHCR, government officials, and other designated staff.
Other tasks may be assigned by the PM as well as management as and when required
Technical activities:
Responsible for proper implementation of Pre-primary, Playgroups, CFS, and other components within the project area by providing technical support, guidance, supervision, and monitoring.
Ensure 100% students’ attendance of the students, teachers, caregivers, house mothers, and animators.Update daily attendance for both teachers and students.
Ensure parents’meetings, parenting sessions, and BMC meetings.
Ensure a child-friendly environment in Pre-primary, playgroup, and creche centers by developing learning materials. Also, ensure eye-level decoration with learning materials in those centers. Ensure cleanliness of students, teachers, caregivers, house mother, animator, classroom, office room, etc.
Collect low-cost toys and learning materials and develop handmade toys and learning
Acquire special attention to the issues of refugee children.
S/he should abide by the Inter-Agency Standing Committee (IASC)’s six core principles on Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) policy. Ensure the safety of team members (in respect to Prevention of sexual exploitation and abuse - PSEA) from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation to achieve the program's goals on safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
